A game that was originally released only on Xbox Series X and PC has quietly launched on the PlayStation 5 for $33.49, available digitally through the PlayStation Store. It’s important to note that many modern ‘console exclusives‘ – games available on a specific console and PC – follow this pattern. This particular game first appeared on PC in 2024, then came to Xbox Series X in 2025. Now, it’s also available on PS5 and the new PS5 Pro, but the PS5 Pro version doesn’t offer any special improvements.
PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro owners have a new game available today, February 19th: BMX Streets by Mash Games. However, it’s surprisingly more expensive on PlayStation than on PC or Xbox Series X, where it costs $24.99. The PS5 version is priced higher, and there’s no clear reason why. Usually, when a game is released on a new platform, the price is similar to or the same as earlier versions. In this case, the PS5 version doesn’t offer any improvements for the PS5 Pro or take advantage of the DualSense controller features, so those don’t explain the extra $10 cost.
A Quiet Fan-Favorite
BMX Streets is a unique game – a realistic, free-style biking simulator – and has found a dedicated audience who generally enjoy it. It currently has a 4 out of 5 star rating on the Xbox Store. On Steam, it’s rated at 78%, but recent reviews show a strong positive trend, with 90% of recent players giving it a thumbs up. Currently, the game doesn’t have a score from professional critics on Metacritic, likely due to a lack of available reviews.
The BMX game, BMX Streets, isn’t included with any PlayStation Plus subscription. It doesn’t seem likely to be added in the future, so players on PS5 and PS5 Pro will need to buy it at full price or wait for a discount if they want to play.
Man, I swear I’m experiencing some serious deja vu! Just last week, a game that was supposed to be exclusive to the Xbox Series X in 2026 was announced for the PS5 too. It’s starting to feel like Xbox games are showing up on PlayStation more and more, and it’s kinda weird.
