As a Pokémon fan, I’ve always lived by the ‘gotta catch ’em all’ rule, and it turns out that goes way beyond just the game! Over the years, collecting the cards and other Pokémon stuff has become a huge hobby for me and a lot of other players. There’s always something new to hunt down. But with Pokémon being around for 30 years now, there are some seriously rare and amazing cards and collectibles out there. I’m talking about ‘grail’ cards like that Pikachu Illustrator Logan Paul owns, and even sealed, original copies of the very first games. It’s a rich history, and right now, a lot of it is actually for sale, which is pretty exciting!
Goldin, the company behind Logan Paul’s famous Pikachu card sale, is holding another Pokemon auction from February 20th to March 8th. Called the Pokemon 151 Auction, it will feature a selection of rare and historical Pokemon cards and collectibles. Whether you’re a collector or just enjoy seeing how much these cards are worth, this auction is one to check out.
Pokemon 151 Auction Gives Fans a Chance to Own Rare Pieces of Pokemon History

The Pokemon 151 Auction is an online event where you can find and bid on rare, professionally graded Pokemon cards. Bidding has already started, and many items are proving popular with collectors. The auction includes individual cards – some even autographed – plus sealed products like Elite Trainer Boxes from 2013 to 2025. You’ll also find complete sets, such as the entire 2000 Pokemon TCG Team Rocket collection.
Pokemon enthusiasts and card collectors have a rare chance to view some unique and hard-to-find cards this year, including several Illustrator Pikachu cards. We’re also featuring a number of World Championship Trainer Trophy Cards – very few of these are made each year, making them incredibly scarce. Many of these cards are also adorable, showcasing Pikachu with its winning trophy!

As a longtime fan, I was really excited to see some Gen 1 history in this collection! They don’t have the most expensive Charizard or Blastoise, but you can definitely bid on some 1st edition cards from the original 1999 Base Set. What’s cool is that a few of the cards aren’t perfect PSA 10s, so you might actually snag a good deal compared to those super high-priced, flawless cards you always see in the news.
Here’s a quick look at the most expensive items up for auction after the first day. Right now, the highest bid is on a near-mint condition 1998 Illustrator Pikachu card – it’s a very rare card, though not quite as rare as the one Logan Paul recently sold for a record price. Close behind is a sealed box of 1st edition Pokemon cards from 1999. Because it’s still sealed, we don’t know which rare cards are inside, but the current bid is already at $160,000. Since the auction doesn’t end until March 8th, that price is expected to increase significantly.
The top five most sought-after items in the Pokemon 151 auction also include a perfect-condition first-edition holographic Charizard, a rare 1999 Japanese promo card from the Secret Super Battle tournament, and a 1998 Japanese Kangaskhan awarded as a prize in a parent-child tournament. Even if you’re not planning to spend a lot of money, it’s fun to look at everything available and see a piece of Pokemon’s 30-year history.
