In the world of Demon Slayer, humans are threatened by flesh-eating demons, which can only be defeated by beheading or sunlight. To combat these monsters, the Demon Slayer Corps trains skilled swordsmen, with the strongest becoming known as the Hashira. There are only nine Hashira in the organization, and each one possesses a special ability and incredible mastery of breathing techniques, giving them extraordinary power.
Anime features a huge number of incredibly strong characters, and swordsmen are among the most well-known. The seven listed here are all powerful enough to defeat every member of the Hashira.
7) Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)

Gintoki often seems relaxed and easygoing, but he’s incredibly powerful when he fights. He can take on dozens of opponents at once, and that’s just a hint of his true strength. He became famous as the ‘White Demon’ during the Joi War, where he single-handedly defeated countless enemies.
6) Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)

Zoro is renowned for his incredible dedication and self-discipline as a swordsman. He’s spent his life mastering the art, becoming remarkably powerful in the process. Even the strongest Demon Slayer Hashira wouldn’t be able to match his skill.
5) Yami Sukehiro (Black Clover)

Yami isn’t just a skilled swordsman – his magic makes him incredibly powerful. He can cut through different dimensions, conjure black holes, and generally overcome any enemy with his spells. Compared to Yami’s abilities, the temporary power-ups the Hashira get from their breathing techniques seem rather limited.
4) Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Sasuke trained with Orochimaru for three years, becoming highly skilled in forbidden techniques. He’s particularly adept at blending these techniques with his sword fighting. He can infuse his sword with lightning chakra, making it more powerful, extending its reach, and even paralyzing enemies. Though his Sharingan and Rinnegan are well-known, his swordsmanship is a significant strength.
3) Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)

Erza is one of the most formidable warriors in the world of Fairy Tail, even among its incredibly powerful characters. What makes her unique is that she doesn’t primarily rely on magic; instead, she’s a master of weapons and armor. She uses a special magic called Requip to store an arsenal that she can summon at will. With a sword in hand, she’s virtually unstoppable.
2) Arthur Boyle (Fire Force)

Arthur always carries a simple wooden handle, but for someone with his fire-based powers, it’s all he needs to fight. He forms a blade out of pure plasma, and how strong it is depends on his focus and imagination. As long as he pictures himself as a mighty knight, his flames will burn incredibly bright.
1) Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)

Ichigo is widely considered one of the strongest heroes in Shonen anime, and by the story’s end, he achieves incredible power. Through his training as a Soul Reaper and acceptance of his Quincy heritage, he unlocks the full potential of his unique Zanpakuto – a rare dual-wielding sword. Few swordsmen in anime have such memorable and powerful techniques.
