
Winona Ryder, known as the ‘Queen of Halloween,’ will be back for another season of the Netflix hit Wednesday, reuniting her with director Tim Burton.
The Netflix series Wednesday follows Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams while she attends Nevermore Academy. There, she works to develop her psychic powers, stop a series of murders, and uncover a long-standing mystery surrounding her parents. The show also stars Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, Fred Armisen, and others.
According to Variety, Winona Ryder will appear in the third season of Wednesday, reuniting her with director Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega after they all worked together on the upcoming Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice movie. Burton shared his excitement about Ryder joining the show, saying he’s thrilled to work with her again, as she’s a close friend and a perfect fit for the series’ atmosphere.
Winona Ryder is returning to Netflix for a new project, marking her first major role since finishing her decade-long run as Joyce Byers on the popular show Stranger Things, which concluded in late 2025. Details about her part in Wednesday are currently being kept secret.
