When Will Scream 7 Release On Paramount+?

The latest installment of the Scream series, Scream 7, hits theaters on February 27th. Despite changes to the cast – including the departures of Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega after Scream 6 – Paramount Pictures is continuing the horror franchise. Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, and this time, her daughter Tatum is also caught up in the terrifying game with a new Ghostface killer.

The Scream films have traditionally done well in cinemas – like most horror movies, people enjoy watching them with others. However, how people watch movies is evolving. With the growing popularity of streaming, many are now choosing to wait and watch big new releases at home. Fortunately, studios are releasing films on streaming platforms much faster than they used to.

What about Scream 7? It’s confirmed the movie will only be available on Paramount+, though we don’t have a specific release date yet. Considering how Paramount+ has handled other releases and current trends, we can make a pretty good guess about when to expect it.

Scream 7 Should Release On Paramount+ In April 2026

If you prefer to watch Scream 7 at home, it should be available on streaming services around two months after it hits theaters. Paramount Pictures has been consistently releasing its films with a 60-day exclusive run in cinemas before making them available elsewhere.

In 2025, most films followed a consistent release pattern, with only Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning experiencing a significant delay (195 days). Regretting You waited 61 days, but titles like Novocaine, Smurfs, The Running Man, and several others all had about a 60-day gap between completion and release. This pattern even applied to the studio’s biggest 2024 movies, including A Quiet Place: Day One, Gladiator II, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Considering Paramount didn’t release any films to streaming until at least 60 days after their theatrical release last year, we can anticipate a similar approach with Scream 7. This is a shift from the previous film, Scream VI, which became available to stream only 46 days after its release and was quite successful, earning $166.5 million worldwide.

Based on the typical 60-day release window, we expect Scream 7 to start streaming on Paramount+ around April 28th. This date falls on a Tuesday, which is when Paramount+ usually adds new movies and shows.

If you don’t want to wait until late April to see the movie, you’ll be able to watch it digitally sooner. Based on Paramount’s typical release schedule, which usually includes a 32-day window, Scream 7 is likely to be available for purchase or rental on demand (PVOD) around March 31st.

If everything goes according to plan, Scream 7 will play in theaters for a little over a month, which is where it will earn most of its money. Although a few theaters might still show the movie after it becomes available digitally, Scream 7 will likely be in cinemas for less than two months before finishing its theatrical run and moving to Paramount+.
