Coronation Street reveals who destroyed Bernie Winter-Alahan’s wedding photo in ITVX release – and it’s not Mal

Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) is extremely anxious on Coronation Street, as she thinks Mal Roper (Tim Treloar), a suspicious electrician, has broken into her house and damaged her wedding picture.

He told her how much he’d been thinking about their night together at the Chariot Square Hotel, after closing up Roy’s Rolls cafe and opening up to her about his feelings.

As viewers may remember, Bernie was heartbroken over the loss of her son-in-law, Billy Mayhew, and went to the hotel bar to cope. There, she met Mal, who was distressed because his wife had been in touch with Roy Cropper.

The pair headed back to his room, where they continued to down alcohol and she ordered drugs.

Honestly, it was a bit awkward watching Mal. She seemed to try and get closer to someone, but she kept saying how happy she was with Dev, and quickly backed off. It was a real mixed signal!

That quick kiss has bothered him a lot since it happened, and he wished she felt the same way. Bernie made it clear she wasn’t interested, and the experience really upset her.

When she returned home, she was shocked to see her face had been cut out of her wedding photo.

Today on the show, it came out that Bernie stayed the night with Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) because Gemma didn’t feel safe in her house.

Mal found her in Victoria Gardens and tried to reassure her she had nothing to fear. However, it was no use – she already sensed his potential for harm and believed he was following her.

Tracy McDonald told her coworkers she needed an electrician for her father, Ken Barlow’s, house, and Roy immediately suggested Mal.

Bernie ended the conversation, explaining she didn’t trust him and had a bad feeling about him.

Even though Mal was rude to the waitress and acted inappropriately, he didn’t actually cut Bernie’s face out of the picture.

That night, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) rummaged through her collection of small treasures and found a round photograph.

This happened shortly after Jodie reunited with Olivia, a girl she once looked after. Olivia begged Jodie to come home to her family, but Jodie firmly explained that she had built a new life and couldn’t go back.

Olivia said she was in witness protection when asked about her situation.

What is Jodie hiding, and why has she targeted Bernie?
