5 Characters Who Could Actually Show Up In Star Wars’ New Game

Because the world of Star Wars has so many characters, even those with small roles are often familiar to fans. The new Galactic Racer game is bringing back the exciting sport of podracing, and it could feature characters from throughout Star Wars history competing in races on different planets. While we might see some famous faces, certain characters are more likely to appear than others.

Fans are already excited about the characters they’ve seen in Star Wars Galactic Racer. The game features characters like Ben Quadinaros and Sebulba, who first appeared in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Since those characters are closely linked to the podracing featured in the film, the game’s developers, Fuse Games, have hinted that even more recognizable characters will be added soon.

5. Anakin Skywalker

Okay, so if Galactic Racer is gonna have cameos, the biggest one has to be Anakin Skywalker. Think about it – before he was a Jedi or Darth Vader, he was a seriously skilled podracer, building his own ride from whatever he could find. That beat-up, but super recognizable, podracer from The Phantom Menace is legendary, and honestly, they need to let us customize our ships to look like it. It’s a must-have!

While Anakin Skywalker might be included in the game, it would likely be in a simple, arcade-style role, not as a fully developed character. Because Galactic Racer is set after Darth Vader’s death in Return of the Jedi, any appearance of Anakin would probably be limited to a brief cameo in online play or a non-official game mode. Alternatively, his history with podracing could be acknowledged through a mention by Sebulba, who might reference Anakin as one of the few racers he’s ever lost to.

4. Ratts Tyerell

Ratts Tyerell, a fellow racer in the Boonta Eve Classic that Anakin Skywalker won, might also appear. Although he died during the race in the original story, stories outside of the main films – in what’s known as Star Wars Legends – suggest his children survived him. Some of these stories even say his son attempted to outlaw podracing after his father’s death.

Ratts Tyerell was a fierce competitor, especially known for his rivalry with Sebulba. His podracer was famous for having incredibly powerful engines, and in the Galactic Racer game, he was a highly agile and skillful pilot. Beyond his racing prowess, Tyerell was also portrayed as someone who strongly opposed cheating, a trait that could be explored through his family in the game’s narrative. His son even established the Tyerell Foundation, which could appear as either a helpful ally or a challenging enemy in the game’s campaign, offering a subtle nod to dedicated fans.

3. Aldar Beedo

Aldar Beedo placed third in the podrace in The Phantom Menace, but he’s a much more significant character in Legends stories. Originally, Beedo was hired as an assassin to eliminate Sebulba during that race, and he continued to try and kill the Dug racer at several other events. Despite repeatedly failing, Beedo eventually ended up working for Sebulba as a bodyguard. Because of their complex history in Legends and Sebulba’s potential importance in Galactic Racer, players may have the chance to encounter Beedo in the game.

Unlike brief appearances by deceased characters, Aldar Beedo could play a significant role in your podracer’s story. He might be a helpful character who provides information about races or even assists you in gaining an advantage before a competition. Players could also take direct control of Beedo, piloting his uniquely powerful podracer – equipped with twin turbojets – to become a truly formidable competitor.

2. Watto

Watto from Star Wars Galactic Racer seems like an odd choice to bring back at first. But considering his close connection to Anakin and the first podrace we see, he’s actually quite linked to the sport itself. Similar to Beedo, the game never shows Watto dying, leaving the possibility for a cameo appearance open. While he wasn’t a racer, Watto was heavily involved in the betting side of podracing, which highlights its connection to illegal underground markets.

In the game, Watto could be a character who sells you parts to upgrade your podracer, just like the clever shopkeeper from The Phantom Menace. He could also let you bet on races, giving you a chance to win money to buy even more parts and improve your vehicle. Essentially, Watto could be a useful part of Galactic Racer even without racing himself.

1. General Grievous

You might not think of General Grievous as a racer, and that makes sense – he’s known as a Jedi hunter and leader of the Droid Army, not a speedster. But if you look closely, Grievous is always escaping in some kind of vehicle. The most obvious example is his Wheelbike on Utapau, which he used to flee from Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Wheelbike is a unique and exciting vehicle idea for Galactic Racer, offering a rare option alongside existing vehicles like speeders and podracers. Its handling could be completely different from anything else in the game, creating a fresh gameplay experience. Even if the character Grievous isn’t playable, there’s potential for him to reappear in the game alongside this vehicle.

Even though General Grievous died on Utapau, stories within the Legends universe often show his body being recovered and rebuilt for other uses. This new game could take that idea a step further, turning Grievous into a terrifying opponent in podraces. Imagine facing him as a final boss – his combat skills would make for an incredibly intense and unexpected challenge. It’s a bit of a surprise idea, but his unique vehicle could be the most shocking appearance in Star Wars Galactic Racer so far.
