Apple TV’s Resurrected Nickelodeon Series Returns Next Month

While Nickelodeon doesn’t have as many original animated shows as it did in the 90s, it still produces popular hits like SpongeBob SquarePants and The Loud House. However, not all Nickelodeon shows have continued successfully, with some being cancelled recently. Thankfully, AppleTV has revived one cancelled series and is bringing it back next month.

Originally debuting on Nickelodeon in 2006, The Wonder Pets followed three charming animals on a mission to help others. After airing for three seasons across Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. for over ten years, the beloved series made a comeback with Wonder Pets: In The City on Apple TV. The revival premiered in 2024 and is set to return for a second season in March, with the original voice cast reprising their roles. Victoria Scola-Giampapa will voice Izzy, Vanessa Huszar will return as Zuri, and Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. will once again play Tate, bringing the hamster, rabbit, and snake back to screens on March 20th.

How to Revisit The Wonder Pets

Even though the original Wonder Pets series is no longer airing on Nickelodeon, you can still watch the first three seasons on Amazon Prime Video. The newest season, Wonder Pets: In The City, is available on Apple TV. While Apple TV is known for shows like Ted Lasso, Silo, and Slow Horses, it’s also adding more content for kids, including Wonder Pets, Snoopy Presents, and Lulu Is a Rhinoceros.

Even though Nickelodeon didn’t get the animated revival, Paramount has another big project coming this year: a new take on Avatar: The Last Airbender. This version, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, will show Aang and his friends as adults. The franchise is also developing a sequel series called Avatar: Seven Havens, which will follow the Avatar after Korra. While Seven Havens doesn’t have a release date yet, it’s planned to come after the movie featuring the adult versions of the original characters.

It’s no surprise Apple TV+ is reviving the classic animated series Wonder Pets, given the success streaming services have had with bringing back beloved franchises. Hulu, for example, has seen great results with revivals like King of the Hill, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Animaniacs.
