Here’s How You Can Stay in the Heated Rivalry Cottage

Will you come to Shane Hollander’s cottage this summer?

You’re going to love this! The charming house where Shane (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) fell in love in Heated Rivalry will soon be available for you to rent on Airbnb.

The rental company revealed on February 24th that their cottage on the lake in Muskoka, Canada—about 130 miles north of Toronto—will be available to book starting March 3rd at noon Eastern Time.

Fans can book the romantic getaway spot where hockey players Ilya and Shane first shared a dinner and where Ilya told Shane he loved him, after dating for almost ten years. The cost is $248.10 CAD per night – a tribute to their jersey numbers. (The price in US dollars is $181 per night.)

Barlochan Cottage sleeps up to six people and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. If you’d like a private bathroom, it’s best to request the main-level bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped – you could make smoothies or quick lunches – and it’s also where a memorable moment happened: David Hollander (played by Dylan Walsh) unexpectedly saw Ilya and Shane kissing.

Guests can relax by the outdoor fire pit, just like the characters did in the show’s first season finale—but be aware of the local loons! We also offer canoes and kayaks for enjoying our nearly 400-foot stretch of private waterfront.

The cottage feels incredibly realistic, even including furniture like the couch, bar stools, and dining table seen in the hockey-themed romantic movie.

Shane and Ilya’s two weeks at the cottage proved to be a turning point in their relationship. After Shane, a Montreal Metros hockey player, injured himself in a game and, while on pain medication, asked Ilya to spend the summer with him, Ilya initially resisted, saying it wasn’t possible.

He finally agreed to the trip after Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) confessed his feelings for Kip Grady (Robbie G.K.) following the New York Admirals’ Stanley Cup victory. Because of this, the show’s creator, Jacob Tierney, understood how crucial it was for Ilya and Shane to have some private time together.

He explained, speaking emotionally at a January panel in Ottawa, that the goal was to create an experience often missing for LGBTQ+ youth. He anticipated that Shane and Ilya would be reserved, and he specifically wanted to provide them with this kind of supportive moment.
