Demon Slayer Unveils New Look At The Best Girl Ahead of Infinity Castle Part 2

Last year, 2025, was huge for Demon Slayer. The first part of the Infinity Castle story broke records, earning over 100 billion yen worldwide! It quickly became the highest-grossing anime film ever, easily surpassing Mugen Train, and kept Demon Slayer in the headlines for months. It premiered in Japan in July 2025 and internationally in September, but we still haven’t heard anything about the second movie. In fact, the first one is still playing in theaters, which means we’re likely waiting even longer for it to come to streaming. While fans are eager for more, the official anime website recently shared a beautiful new image of Shinobu Kocho, a fan-favorite character.

To celebrate her birthday on February 24th, a cute, simplified illustration of the Insect Hashira has been released. She’s shown wearing a light-colored outfit and carrying flowers. The artwork features a purple background, matching her character’s colors. Ufotable is also promoting new merchandise inspired by this illustration, which you can find on their official online store.

Shinobu Had a Crucial Role in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle

Shinobu first appeared in the anime’s first season and quickly showed viewers what made her special. Though she can’t directly kill demons with her sword, she’s incredibly skilled at making potent poisons that defeat them quickly. Despite being strong enough to handle most demons, the Upper Moons present a much greater challenge.

I was absolutely captivated by Shinobu’s story! It turns out she and a few others actually drank Muzan Kibutsuji’s blood, which gave them incredible powers – making them almost impossible to defeat. The Infinity Castle Arc was heartbreaking because she finally faced Doma, the demon who killed her sister Kanae years before. We already knew her family had been tragically taken by demons, but the film really showed us how deeply that loss affected her. It was devastating to see the overwhelming sadness and anger she carried after losing everything. She was unbelievably quick and managed to confuse Doma, but sadly, none of her poisons seemed to work on him. It was a truly emotional reveal!

The demon quickly defeated Shinobu, and she died before Kanao’s eyes. Though her death is heartbreaking, Shinobu secretly had a plan for Kanao, which she shared with her before she died. Her battle with Doma was a highlight of the series, but the story isn’t finished until Doma is defeated. The next installment of the Infinity Castle saga will reveal Shinobu’s message to Kanao and how it impacts the story. Unfortunately, the animation studio hasn’t announced any details about the second movie, meaning the anime won’t return this year.
