One of Gaming’s Most Popular Franchises Is Finally Getting a Netflix Movie

As a gamer, I’ve been so excited to see how well recent video game adaptations have turned out! Things like Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Fallout, and The Last of Us were amazing, and honestly, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves deserved way more attention. There are even more coming, and I just heard about a new one for Netflix that’s based on a really popular game – but it’s a franchise I definitely didn’t expect to see adapted!

I’m so excited to hear that Netflix is bringing Ticket to Ride to life! I’ve always loved that board game, and it’s fantastic news that they’re developing both movies and TV shows based on it. Apparently, they’re starting with a feature film written by Ben Mekler and Chris Amick – I can’t wait to see how they translate the game’s strategy and adventure onto the big screen. It’s such a unique project, and I think Netflix is really onto something here!

Ticket to Ride Is A Tabletop Staple, and Now It’s About To Finally Hit the Screen

If you haven’t played Ticket to Ride before, it’s a hugely popular board game – with over 20 million copies sold and translations into more than 30 languages! It’s become well-known even outside the board game community, so you’ve probably heard of it even if you’re not a regular player.

I’ve been following Ticket to Ride for a while now, and it’s amazing to see how Asmodee and Days of Wonder keep building on what makes the game so special. They haven’t just stuck to the original formula either – they’ve taken us on railway adventures all over the world, with versions set in places like Japan, the UK, Poland, Paris, and Berlin. What’s really cool is they’ve also created versions for younger players, like Ticket to Ride: First Journey, Ticket to Ride: Europe: First Journey, and Ticket to Ride: Ghost Train. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, they released Ticket to Ride: Legacy, their first ever legacy game – a huge step for the franchise!

In Ticket to Ride, 2 to 5 players compete to claim railway routes across a map. To succeed, you’ll need to collect the correct Train Cards and strategically plan your routes before other players block your path!

The game becomes increasingly difficult as you add more routes and finish them, so careful planning is key, especially as you get further in. The player with the most points from completed routes wins, and each version of Ticket to Ride offers a unique twist on the gameplay.

Honestly, I have no idea how they’re going to adapt this for the big screen, but I’m so excited to see what they do with it! It’s been a long time coming for this story, and I can’t wait to finally see it play out as a movie.
