ITV announced the premiere date for the eagerly awaited drama, Gone, and it’s coming very soon!
The new series, featuring David Morrissey from The Walking Dead and Eve Myles of Torchwood, will debut on ITV1 on Sunday, March 8th at 9 PM.
Viewers can now watch the show when it’s convenient for them, with episodes becoming available on ITVX before they air on television.
In the series ‘Gone’, Morrissey plays Michael Polly, the school’s headmaster. He’s presented as a respected, orderly man who values precision, but he quickly becomes a suspect when his wife, Sarah, vanishes.
The story kicks off when Detective Annie Cassidy, played by Myles, starts investigating a case, leading to a tense and intriguing back-and-forth as she tries to uncover the truth about the suspect.
The mystery hints at something much larger – a story about overcoming trauma, rebuilding trust, and the lasting impact of powerful organizations.

George Kay, the writer behind popular shows like The Long Shadow, Hijack, and Lupin, wrote the script.
While the show is a work of fiction, it draws inspiration from the book To Hunt a Killer and the real-life experiences of Julie Mackay, a former Detective Superintendent with the Gloucestershire Police, and ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy.
ITV first announced the drama, ‘Gone,’ in November, calling it a suspenseful and psychologically intense series.
Myles expressed excitement about playing Detective Annie Cassidy in the new drama, Gone, praising George Kay’s writing. She described Annie as a smart, brave character who won’t tolerate nonsense, but noted that she faces a strong challenge from Michael Polly, played by David Morrissey. Myles also shared her enthusiasm for working with director Richard Laxton and is eager for audiences to watch the show.
Morrissey expressed his excitement about working with George Kay and the team at New Pictures again, and collaborating for the first time with Eve Myles and Richard Laxton.
The show’s cast includes Myles and Morrissey, as well as talented actors like Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barratt, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham, and Clare Higgins.
Gone will premiere on Sunday 8 March at 9pm on ITV1.
