Netflix is a hugely popular place to watch animated movies, with a diverse selection ranging from classics like Despicable Me to newer hits like KPop Demon Hunters. While subscribers are enjoying recent additions such as the How to Train Your Dragon films and animated The Addams Family movies, they don’t have much time left to watch one of the best animated films from the 2000s before it potentially leaves the platform.
You only have until March 1st to watch the award-winning animated comedy Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit on Netflix! This 2005 film, the fourth in the popular Wallace & Gromit series, follows the quirky inventor Wallace and his dog Gromit as they try to save the town’s giant vegetable competition from a mysterious creature—the Were-Rabbit. The movie stars Peter Sallis, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, and Peter Kay.
What Makes Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit So Good?
When people make lists of the best animated movies from the 2000s, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit consistently appears—and for good reason. It’s a stunning example of stop-motion animation, taking over five years to create. Every single frame is packed with incredibly detailed, hand-made elements—from small newspapers and vegetables to even the fingerprints left in the clay. This dedication to craftsmanship gives the characters a remarkable expressiveness, especially Gromit, who tells the story entirely through his expressions without ever saying a word.
Beyond its impressive stop-motion animation, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is a delightful film. It lovingly spoofs classic monster movies like Dracula and The Wolf Man, but also tells a heartwarming story about friendship. The movie is genuinely funny, offering both silly slapstick for children and clever, nostalgic jokes for adults – making it enjoyable for the whole family. With fantastic voice acting and a wonderful musical score, it’s no surprise the film has earned a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics giving it a 95% approval score.
Where to Stream Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit After It Leaves Netflix?
It’s currently unknown where you’ll be able to stream Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in the future. Right now, it’s only available on Netflix, and since streaming services haven’t announced their March 2026 plans yet, we don’t know if it will move to another platform. Even if it leaves Netflix, fans will still be able to rent or buy the movie online.
