Absolute Wonder Woman is becoming increasingly powerful and popular with fans. Her success isn’t just due to her kindness and impressive fighting abilities, but also to the magic she uses. Unlike previous versions, this Wonder Woman was raised in Hell and trained by the witch Circe, who taught her everything about magic and spells. This magical knowledge has proven incredibly useful as she battles various dangers.

The main danger comes from Veronica Cale, National Security Adviser, who is determined to eliminate Wonder Woman, no matter the cost. With few options left, Cale is sending the Absolute Suicide Squad after Wonder Woman, led by this world’s Zatanna. Zatanna has already cast a powerful spell that stops Wonder Woman from using her own magic when they’re near each other. However, Wonder Woman isn’t defeated yet and has a shocking plan for Cale’s team of villains.

Absolute Wonder Woman Goes Kaiju-Sized to Stop Giganta

Okay, so in the latest Absolute Wonder Woman issue, things are still tricky with Diana and Zatanna – Diana’s powers just don’t work around Zatanna. But honestly, Zatanna’s got bigger fish to fry than whatever mission she was originally sent on. She’s desperately trying to remove this creepy parasite Cale stuck inside her, the one that was controlling her. And she succeeds! Once she’s free, she peace-out, leaving the Suicide Squad to handle Wonder Woman themselves. Thankfully for Diana, that means she gets all her powers back and can really go to town on the rest of the team. It’s a solid turning point in the story, for sure.

Diana quickly defeats Doctor Poison, encasing her in a pink bubble and sending her flying away from the fight. Then, Giganta and Cheetah join the battle – Giganta tries to crush Wonder Woman, while Cheetah attacks her throat. Although Cheetah isn’t very dangerous, Giganta starts growing larger, aiming to defeat Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman pretends to be knocked out by a punch, allowing her to get close enough to Giganta to pull out some of her hair.

Wonder Woman quickly grew to match Giganta’s massive size and strength, landing a powerful blow. However, Giganta was resilient and continued to grow, trying to overpower Wonder Woman. Each time Giganta increased in size, Wonder Woman countered by magically matching her growth, fueled by strands of Giganta’s hair she plucked away. Realizing their escalating battle could harm Gateway City, Wonder Woman moved the fight to a remote island. There, she subdued Giganta by choking her until she lost consciousness.

Absolute Wonder Woman Really Has a Spell for Everything

Honestly, I’m constantly amazed by Wonder Woman’s magical abilities in this series. Just when I think her powers can’t get any more impressive, a new spell appears that surpasses everything we’ve seen before. We’ve witnessed incredible feats already – like silencing an entire city, magically recreating a limb with blood magic, and even turning herself into a Gorgon – all within the first story arc! It’s important to remember that Wonder Woman has been studying magic for years, so what we’re seeing is likely just a small part of everything Circe taught her.

This spell is incredibly useful. Wonder Woman can quickly gain the same physical characteristics as her opponents – all she needs is a small sample like a strand of hair. The comic focuses on matching size and strength, but it makes you think if she could also copy things like speed. This ability gives her a huge edge in battles, particularly as she faces increasingly challenging and varied villains. It won’t work against everyone, but it’s incredibly helpful when fighting physically imposing enemies like Giganta.

I have a feeling Kelly Thompson has more surprises in store for Wonder Woman, and I’m excited to find out what they are. We still don’t even know the full potential of her third lasso! But with Cale determined to defeat her, having a counter-spell like this is a huge benefit. No matter how strong or strange her enemies become, Wonder Woman has the magical power to balance the odds.
