Marvel Studios has made available on Spotify the complete soundtrack for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, which includes the names of all 25 tracks from composer Michael Giacchino’s score. The titles suggest significant plot points that have been revealed through trailers and marketing, hinting at some of the darkest and most intense moments in MCU history. Since critics won’t be able to watch the entire film until about a week before its global premiere, this soundtrack offers fans an opportunity to delve deeper into the storyline by analyzing the titles.
Titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, this upcoming movie is directed by Matt Shakman and features Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the lead roles. This film will introduce The Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe within an alternate reality setting. In the story, they are given the mission to defeat Galactus, a colossal cosmic being, along with his ally, the Silver Surfer. If they fail, their world could be wiped out. This action-packed adventure is set to premiere in cinemas on July 25, 2025.
Fantastic Four 2025 Movie Soundtrack Listing Spoilers Explained
Sue Storm’s Pregnancy with Franklin Richards
In the music from “The Fantastic Four,” the second track is named “Pregnancy Testing 1, 2, 3.
Since the second film installment is underway, viewers are likely to discover that Sue becomes pregnant rather swiftly, an event that doesn’t come as a surprise given its hints in the movie trailers. Consequently, as the story unfolds, Sue will undoubtedly have quite a challenging time juggling her new role as a mother with continuing to lead her team and protect her family from impending dangers.
The Silver Surfer Announces Galactus’ Imminent Arrival
On The Fantastic Four’s soundtrack, the fourth and fifth tracks are named “Herald Today, Gone Tomorrow” and “Out to Launch.” These titles, along with the reference to “Herald,” strongly hint at the appearance of Julia Garner as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Silver Surfer. Her role signals the imminent debut of Ralph Ineson’s Galactus, who is The Fantastic Four’s main adversary.
It’s highly probable that one of these songs will be featured in a Marvel clip released in early July, starring Garner as the Silver Surfer, where she warns about Galactus approaching Earth. Another track might be playing subtly while the team journeys into space for peace talks with him. Given Galactus’ immense status as a villain, both literally and thematically, it’s not unexpected that several songs will be dedicated to his grand entrance.
Galactus’ True Power Levels Are Shown
On the album, tracks six and seven seem to be related to Galactus, titled “A Galactus Case of the Munchies” and “Bowel Before Me.” These tracks might depict a scenario where Galactus, known for his planet-devouring nature to increase his power, could potentially carry out such an event in these songs.
In several trailers for The Fantastic Four, it’s clear that an unidentified planet is set to collide with Galactus, causing its core to explode and obliterate the entire planet. Although this isn’t likely to be the team’s Earth, the event will serve as a grim demonstration of Galactus’ immense destructive capabilities, making it abundantly clear to the team just how dangerous he truly is.
The Fantastic Four Welcomes Franklin Richards to the World
In this soundtrack, I find myself drawn to Track 10, titled “Starship Birth.
Based on accounts describing hidden footage, it is said that Franklin was born aboard a spaceship, as the team frantically tried to flee Galactus’ destructive path, which included obliterating a planet before their eyes. Given these extraordinary conditions and Franklin’s immense power, the tension will escalate significantly as he makes his entrance into this world.
Mole Man Has a Change of Heart?
According to promotional events for this movie, Paul Walter Hauser is set to portray the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first version of the Mole Man, who was initially the Fantastic Four’s adversary from Marvel Comics. Interestingly, track 13 on the Fantastic Four’s soundtrack, titled “A Mole in Your Plan,” might hint at a change in allegiance for this famous villain.
In this scenario, the new track appearing midway through the list of titles might hint at Mole Man switching allegiances and aiding the Fantastic Four in their climactic struggle against Galactus. This could potentially be why the team is depicted underground in certain trailer snippets, as they strive to save all life on their planet with its future hanging precariously in the balance.
Marvel Studios’ Nod to The Fantastic Four Cartoons
Towards the final moments of the soundtrack, listeners can find a tune called “The Fantastic Four Power Hour (Cartoon Theme)” lasting for about 34 seconds. Given this movie is set in a blend of future and ’60s aesthetics, playing this song could hint at a tribute to the team’s initial appearances in our world’s media.
The Fantastic Four, Marvel’s original family, have been featured prominently in various animated television series throughout the years, with notable appearances in shows dating back to 1967 and 1994. This tune could serve as a delightful wink to either of these versions of the team, especially when Ben Grimm casually mentions, “That’s just for the cartoons” after being asked to utter his iconic phrase, “Time for some smashing action!
The Multiverse’s Potential Role in The Fantastic Four
Considering the latter part of the soundtrack’s pieces, Track #15 stands out with its title “The Other Sue Makes an Appearance.” Given that this film is likely to conclude with the Fantastic Four being exiled from their universe into Earth-616, there might be additional multiverse plot twists to anticipate as well.
Several viewers speculate that the Council of Reeds might feature in this movie, potentially introducing multiple Invisible Women to the storyline. If this theory comes true, it could mean multiple Sue Storm characters may appear. However, it remains uncertain whether both Jessica Alba and Kate Mara will portray one of these characters as a possible nod to their past roles with the Fantastic Four. Ultimately, we’ll need to wait and see what the movie unfolds.
