For the first time in 22 years, it’s been revealed that DC and Marvel comics will collaborate. This highly anticipated crossover kicks off with “Deadpool/Batman” from Marvel and then “Batman/Deadpool” from DC. However, these two characters aren’t the only ones teaming up. Additional stories in both Marvel and DC issues feature pairings like Kevin Smith’s “Daredevil/Green Arrow,” Chip Zdarsky’s “Captain America/Wonder Woman,” and Kelly Thompson’s “Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto the Super Dog.” It’s an exciting time for comic book enthusiasts!
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but imagine the thrilling combinations of characters in this highly anticipated Marvel/DC crossover. Beyond the expected duos, there are several unconventional and electrifying pairings that I yearn to see. From heroes who might seem unlikely allies to villains joining forces in ways that would send shockwaves through the multiverse, here’s my wishlist for this epic crossover event.
1) Bullseye & Onomatopoeia
In a new storyline, it’s exciting to imagine Kevin Smith revisiting the characters he’s written before, Bullseye and Onomatopoeia, forming an ominous duo. Given their roles as adversaries in past stories, it seems fitting that they would surface as the antagonists Hornhead (Daredevil) and the Emerald Archer must confront. The contrast between Oliver’s archery abilities versus Bullseye’s throwing prowess promises an engaging spectacle. Additionally, Onomatopoeia’s unique power of emitting sounds corresponding to what he hears could potentially disrupt Daredevil’s radar sense, adding an intriguing layer to the conflict.
It’s yet to be determined how Daredevil and Green Arrow will clash, but a thrilling storyline could arise from them battling their respective villains. Given Smith’s knack for crafting Onomatopoeia and his impressive work on Bullseye with memorable assassinations, it would be exciting to see him revisit these characters once more.
2) Superman & Moon Knight
Comparing Moon Knight to a grittier Batman suggests an intriguing match-up with Superman when considering their contrasting personalities. The unique elements of Marc Spector being possessed by the god Khonshu and Superman’s susceptibility to magic bring additional depth to this hypothetical team-up, creating a captivating dynamic. This unconventional pairing could breathe new life into the classic World’s Finest duo, offering both a fresh twist on an old formula and an exciting crossover opportunity.
3) Black Canary & Elektra
In their respective universes, Black Canary and Elektra stand out as exceptional martial artists. Combining their skills seems almost inevitable, given that while Black Canary possesses the powerful ability of a sonic scream, Elektra is known for her exceptional combat skills. Together, they could make an outstanding team, capable on their own or in collaboration with Daredevil and Green Arrow. The potential for an engaging story between these characters is significant, and it would be a missed opportunity not to explore this possibility.
4) Animal Man & She-Hulk
Couldn’t it be possible that Grant Morrison might revisit the Batman/Deadpool series, leading one to wonder if he might also bring back Animal Man for a crossover? And when it comes to teaming up Animal Man with another character, She-Hulk seems like an ideal choice. Though they may appear to be an unusual match, they have both explored the concept of breaking the fourth wall in unique ways – She-Hulk using it for her advantage and Buddy becoming mentally unstable because of it.
Combining these two characters promises an intriguing approach for character development and exploring their unique blend. Since She-Hulk has a comical side and Animal Man is more serious, this fusion could yield exceptional narrative opportunities – potentially striking storytelling gold!
5) Absolute Batman & Ultimate Spider-Man
In both Marvel and DC universes, there are now two separate realities coexisting, each offering unique interpretations of classic heroes. Isn’t it intriguing to imagine the main figures from the “Ultimate” and “Absolute” universe lines joining forces for a comic book? While this collaboration might seem improbable among our desired combinations, visualizing these popular alternative versions of cherished characters unite, showcasing their distinct personalities and lives, could be an exciting spectacle.
