So far, 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for anime, with popular shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Sentenced To Be a Hero leading the way. But amidst all the new releases, one series often gets overlooked. Hell’s Paradise is not only one of the most intense and visually stunning anime of the year, but it’s also delivering some incredibly epic and disturbing battle sequences that are truly unforgettable.
The anime Hell’s Paradise is set on a dangerous island filled with monsters and a legendary elixir said to grant immortality. The story follows Gabimaru, a skilled criminal, and a group of other dangerous convicts sent by their nation to find the elixir in exchange for a pardon. Now in its second season, Gabimaru and his allies are battling the island’s powerful antagonists, Tensen, in intense and visually stunning fights – one particular battle is expected to be a real showstopper.
The current fight pits the unusual duo of Fuchi and Gantetsusai – a powerful, one-handed swordsman and his attendant who work for the Empire – against the seemingly cheerful villain, Tao Fa. However, despite appearing carefree, Tao Fa is a dangerous opponent. They fight by drastically increasing their physical strength and launching unseen energy attacks. The battle, which was still ongoing at the end of the last episode, is already incredibly brutal, and it’s difficult to see how it could become any more intense.
Hell’s Paradise Isn’t Holding Back

The fights in the series are incredibly intense, with the human warriors barely holding on after taking devastating hits. In a key moment, Gantetsusai discovers he can feel the flow of energy, Tao, without sight. In a shocking display of brutality, he rips out his remaining eye with his hook to avoid incoming attacks, highlighting just how violent these battles are. The anime adaptation of Hell’s Paradise, thanks to MAPPA’s excellent animation, successfully brings the manga’s terrifying creatures and intense violence to life, mirroring the harsh realities of Gabimaru’s past.
As of today, it’s unclear if Hell’s Paradise will get another season. The current season has twelve episodes, and we’re past the halfway point. For those familiar with the manga, the story finished in 2021, and the anime is now adapting the ending. If the anime stays true to the source material, we can likely expect at least one more season to wrap up the series. While avoiding spoilers, it’s safe to say Hell’s Paradise won’t have a completely cheerful ending, but the final battles promise to be explosive.
