If there’s one person you don’t mess with in Albert Square, it’s Max Branning (Jake Wood).
This EastEnders character is determined to win over Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and will do anything to achieve it.
While most men might try to impress someone with flowers or a fancy dinner, Max took a very different approach. He kidnapped Tim Walton, a business investor of his son Johnny’s, and stuffed him into the trunk of a car.
Last week, Tim engaged in a sexual act with Johnny to prevent him from revealing secrets about Tim’s partner, Callum Highway. This happened after Linda encouraged Tim to push the boundaries of their relationship, believing it was strong enough to withstand any challenge.
She had no idea of what would follow, and Linda now blames herself for what happened.

Max playfully pretended to be Tim’s taxi driver, but started driving aimlessly around Walford, intentionally making the trip take longer. Tim soon noticed something was wrong and asked Max to get back on the right track.
Linda immediately told Johnny what was happening, but he was preoccupied because he needed to tell Callum about what had gone on. It was a difficult conversation – Callum was initially shocked and felt deeply betrayed.

Once Callum understood what Johnny had done was sexual assault, and that Johnny’s actions stemmed from a misguided attempt to protect their family, he felt overwhelming guilt. Callum encouraged Johnny to report the assault to the police, but Johnny was simply grateful the situation was finally over.
Meanwhile, on a darkened road, Max claimed he had a flat tire and asked Tim to help him look at it.

While Tim was leaning over the trunk of the car, Max shoved him inside and quickly closed the lid. As Tim yelled for help, Max threatened him, telling him to never cross Johnny and Callum again, and to immediately pay the remaining balance owed to Johnny’s business, Carter & Carter.
He even pretended to ignite the motor, before finally freeing Tim and kicking him across the path.
Is this the end of their torment, or will Tim strike back?
