The popular FX drama is nearing its end. Jamie Lee Curtis has announced that the show will conclude after its fifth season, and she recently shared a photo with co-star Abby Elliott as filming wraps up.
The show has wrapped up filming! The post celebrated the incredible team – the writers, producers, and cast – who brought Chris Storer’s story of this beloved family to life.
She recently addressed the rumors in an interview with Access Hollywood, clarifying that she didn’t reveal any secret about the show ending. “Everyone already knows the show is finishing up,” she explained. “I’m not sure why it’s a problem. Unless I hear from people who are upset that I said something I shouldn’t have, I thought it was common knowledge that this was the final season. If it isn’t, then I really messed up!”
There’s a chance Curtis will soon receive confirmation about the show’s future. FX hasn’t yet said whether Season 5 will be the last for The Bear, and they haven’t confirmed if Curtis’s statements suggest it is.

The television series The Bear follows Carmy Berzatto, a highly skilled chef played by Jeremy Allen White, who leaves the fine dining world to run his family’s small sandwich shop in Chicago. He aims to turn it into a more ambitious restaurant. The show also features Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, a promising chef who joins Carmy as a partner and mentee; Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie Jerimovich, a close friend of Carmy’s late brother who previously helped manage the shop; Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks, the talented baker; Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina Marrero, a seasoned line cook; Abby Elliott as Carmy’s sister, Sugar Berzatto, who handles the business side of things; Matty Matheson as Neil Fak, a handyman and family friend; and Edwin Lee Gibson as Ebraheim, another line cook.
Several actors appear in multiple episodes of The Bear. These include Oliver Platt as Jimmy Kalinowski, a family friend who invested in the restaurant; Molly Gordon as Claire Dunlap, a childhood friend and love interest of Carmy; and Curtis as Donna Berzatto, the family’s mother who struggles with personal issues.
