Netflix’s The Four Seasons Reveals Season 2 Release Date & First-Look Images After Steve Carell’s Shocking Fate

Even though Steve Carell’s character met a surprising end, the show The Four Seasons is coming back with the group of friends embarking on a fresh set of adventures and vacations.

The first season of this Netflix series is inspired by the 1981 film with Alan Alda and Carol Burnett. It follows three couples who take a trip together each season, with each vacation unfolding over two episodes. The group’s established relationships are shaken up when Nick decides to leave his wife, Anne, and starts a relationship with someone much younger, Ginny. While mostly a comedy, the show takes a dramatic turn when Nick dies in a car accident near the end of the season, and the finale reveals that Ginny is expecting his baby.

Get ready for more drama! Netflix has confirmed that season 2 of The Four Seasons will premiere on May 28th. The entire cast – Anne, Ginny, Kate, Jack, Danny, and Claude – is back, and new photos show them enjoying a vacation filled with beach trips, mountain views, and wine. We also get a first look at Ginny’s pregnancy. Check out the photos below!

It took a little while, but Ginny was eventually welcomed by Nick’s friends, and the finale showed they – including his ex-wife – would support her in the future. The final scene of Anne and Ginny happily walking together suggests this will happen, and that Ginny is now a fully accepted member of the group, ready to join in on all their traditions and vacations.

Originally, Alan Alda played Anne’s father, Don, in Netflix’s The Four Seasons, a tribute to his role in the first movie. It’s currently unknown if he’ll be back for season two, or if any other actors beyond the main cast will return. Tina Fey has mentioned that Steve Carell’s character, Nick, could appear in flashbacks, but even if he doesn’t, Nick’s past and the upcoming birth of his child will likely be significant parts of the new season.

As a big fan, I was really pleased to hear season 2 of The Four Seasons is coming out on May 28, 2026! Considering the whole first season dropped on May 1, 2025, that’s a pretty fast turnaround – a lot of shows on streaming services these days take years between seasons. It definitely helped that Netflix renewed the show super quickly, less than two weeks after it launched, which meant they could start working on the next batch of episodes right away. Plus, the critics seemed to like it too – it’s sitting at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, so overall the reviews were pretty positive.
