The popular PS5 game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, is coming to the new Nintendo Switch 2! This exciting announcement means players will soon be able to experience this critically acclaimed title on the go, and it comes as a sequel to the original game is also planned for release later this year.
However, for developer Ember Lab, the launch will likely represent quite a bit more.
Ember Lab, the studio behind the game Kena: Bridge of Spirits, first gained recognition by creating short videos on YouTube. Their tribute to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, released in 2016, became a huge hit, earning over 15 million views. Now, with the release of Kena on the Switch 2, Ember Lab has come full circle – they’re now publishing a game on a Nintendo console, a platform they clearly admire. You can watch the original, popular video here:
Kena: Bridge of Spirits – Complete Edition, which includes the base game, the Anniversary DLC, and a New Game+ mode – will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2026.
Later this year, Ember Lab will release Kena: Scars of Kosmora on PlayStation 5 and PC. The game follows Kena as she travels to a mysterious island, hoping to find a way to heal herself and reunite with an old friend. Once there, she encounters a dangerous corruption that damages her staff – a vital tool she needs to survive. To overcome this, Kena must learn a powerful, but forgotten, spirit-guiding technique that allows her to control the elements.
