Marvel has announced the return of the Punisher, just before he appears in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” storyline. The Punisher’s character has been controversial in recent years, leading Marvel to temporarily stop using him. Now, with the controversy seemingly settled, Frank Castle is back in the Marvel Universe with his signature intensity.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear that the Punisher is coming back to the MCU! Just as Frank Castle is kicking things up a notch in the comics, Jon Bernthal is officially returning to play him in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, which is slated to come out in the summer of 2026. He really was the Punisher in Daredevil, and I can’t wait to see what he does with the role again.

This is just the beginning of the Punisher’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Beyond his appearance in Brand New Day, there’s talk that Frank Castle will also be featured in a Disney+ special.
