Anime fans have a lot to look forward to in 2026, with new series appearing on streaming platforms every month. While Crunchyroll gets most of the new releases, Netflix is also becoming a major player in the anime world. They’re adding both original shows and bringing back older favorites, including some titles you might have forgotten. Just in the first week of March 2026, Netflix has already released some standout anime, like Love Through a Prism and Cosmic Princess Kaguya, among others.
With April just around the corner, What’s on Netflix has announced a list of upcoming series. Two are brand new shows everyone’s been waiting for, and the third is a continuation of the popular series One Piece, starting a new story arc.
3) The Ramparts of Ice

Starting April 2nd, 2026, Netflix will begin streaming the anime version of Kocha Agasawa’s manga – the same author behind the popular Shonen Jump series You and I Are Polar Opposites. The story centers on Koyuki Higawa, who struggles with social interactions and keeps people at a distance. Her life changes when she meets Minato Amamiya and starts building relationships with her classmates.
2) Dandelion

Next month, fans will finally see the animated version of Gintama creator Hideaki Sorachi’s very first manga work. This one-shot story, originally included in the first volume of Gintama, will be a seven-episode series with brand new content. It follows Tetsuo Tanba and Misaki Kurogane, two Angels who work for the Japanese Angel Federation, helping lost spirits find rest.
1) One Piece: Elbaph Arc

The popular anime One Piece is coming back in April 2026 after a three-month break, starting a new story arc. While Netflix hasn’t announced a specific date yet, new episodes will likely be available on the streaming platform about a week after they first air in Japan. Starting with the Elbaph Arc – the second part of the show’s final storyline where the Straw Hat crew explores the land of the Giants and faces new obstacles – One Piece will release 26 episodes annually instead of weekly.
