The King is Watching DLC ‘Crowns of History’ launches March 16

The new downloadable content “Crowns of History” for the roguelite strategy game The King is Watching will be available on March 16th for $4.99. This was announced by publisher tinyBuild and developer Hypnohead.

Hypnohead’s game, The King is Watching, has been a hit with players worldwide, starting as a third-place winner at a game jam and now boasting over 500,000 sales, according to studio head Semyon Itmaniuk. The new downloadable content, ‘The Crowns of History,’ lets players experience life as famous kings and queens, providing both entertainment and fresh gameplay challenges.

Okay, so in this game, you basically team up with three powerful leaders from history, and they’re all about reshaping the world – whether through destruction, bringing things back to life, or just going completely wild with power. I’ve been playing as Cleopatra, the Empress of Death, and it’s awesome! I can raise an army of the undead to crush anyone who gets in my way. The coolest part? I can collect resources from defeated enemies to bring back Egyptian units like Sphinxes, Jinns, and even Horus! And don’t even get me started on Anubis Saber Masters – they’re brutal. I also have these ‘Pharos Blessings’ that can revive my troops and unleash explosive scarabs, wiping out entire enemy armies in seconds. Seriously, it’s a game-changer!

As a huge fan of strategy games, I’m really excited about Taizong of Tang! He’s all about turning defenses into serious offensive weapons. You get to build up and improve your forts, and the stronger the people’s support, the more powerful they become. Plus, you can get awesome Crossbowmen to guard your walls without worrying about unit caps. And the special abilities? Forget about it! Calling down Divine Punishment to blast enemies, then sending in your cavalry to mop up… it’s a recipe for total domination, and it really captures the might of the Tang Dynasty!

Xerxes, known as the Glass Cannon King, is a powerful leader who overwhelms opponents with devastating attacks, but is easily damaged. His special ability, Ephemeral Existence, greatly increases his army’s damage output, though it reduces their health to just 10%. Use Sands of Time to instantly recharge all unit abilities, quickly move your elite Immortal units across the battlefield, and command an incredibly strong, yet vulnerable, army.
