Spider-Man 4 Features Shocking MCU Death — Report

A recent report suggests that the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man 4, could include a surprising and potentially upsetting death for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What MCU death might appear in Spider-Man 4?

A source familiar with the upcoming movie posted on X (formerly Twitter) about recent rumors surrounding “Brand New Day.” These rumors claim Spider-Man will die in the film, and the insider, MyTimeToShine, believes they may be connected to the famous comic book story arc, “Kraven’s Last Hunt.”

The comics feature a storyline where Kraven captures and buries Spider-Man, then impersonates him for several weeks. While the movie probably won’t follow that exactly, it’s possible Spider-Man could appear to die and then return later. Another popular fan theory, fueled by rumors of a more aggressive Hulk, is that Spider-Man and the Hulk might have a fatal fight in the film.

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of the 2021 Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He was originally set to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty but left that project in November 2023.

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the next installment of the movie. Zendaya, an Emmy winner, and Jacob Batalon are also expected to reprise their roles. Joining them will be Sadie Sink (known from Stranger Things), Liza Colón-Zayas (from The Bear), Jon Bernthal, and Tillman, among other cast members. Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad are producing the film.

The next Spider-Man movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, before the releases of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
