Capybara Games announced that their new short adventure game, Find Your Words, will be released on PC through Steam in April. The game lets players experience a colorful summer camp as a child who can’t speak, focusing on non-verbal communication. It will be free to download, with an optional paid version for those who want to support the developers.
Here is an overview of the game, via Capybara Games:
Find Your Words is a brief and charming adventure where you play as a child at summer camp who is learning to express themselves without talking.
Explore beautiful campgrounds filled with wildlife and build friendships as you play! As you discover the game’s world, you’ll collect symbols that let you communicate in unique ways and unlock new things to do. The more you connect with your camp friends, the more you’ll learn about their charming personalities.
“Find Your Words” is a free resource created by parents who wanted to support their children in expressing themselves.
Jon Maur and Vic Nguyen, both experienced developers at Capybara Games and fathers themselves, created Find Your Words. The game is inspired by their personal experiences raising children who don’t speak, and aims to show how these children—and others like them—experience and interact with the world.
Jon Maur was the lead programmer, writer, and designer for Find Your Words. He’s also contributed to several other well-known games, including Grindstone, Below, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
Vic was the creative lead for the art, visuals, and design of Find Your Words. He’s also worked on popular games like Grindstone, Super Time Force Ultra, Sound Shapes, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
With a total of 30 years working at Capybara Games, the creators of Find Your Words want players to explore how people connect with each other in ways that don’t involve talking.
