Ellen DeGeneres is gearing up for her next big project.
The stand-up comedian, who relocated to the U.K. with his spouse Portia de Rossi last autumn, has expressed a willingness to potentially host a new talk show in the UK, following his tenure on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ from 2003 to 2022. However, he remains uncertain if the format would still resonate in today’s media environment.
She expressed to Richard Bacon during their live chat in Gloucestershire, England, on July 20 (as BBC reports), ‘If only I could, I would gladly repeat the action. However, it seems people are more engrossed in their phones or less attentive towards TVs because we’re bombarded with so much information and entertainment these days.’
The 67-year-old is considering her future career steps thoughtfully, regardless of whether she goes back to daytime TV or not.
She continued, “I’m still unsure about it for now. I yearn for enjoyment, for action. My chickens are pleasant, but I find myself growing weary.
The Emmy-winning individual shared that she and Portia, who marked 20 years as a couple in March, had originally intended to reside abroad for around three to four months annually. However, following the reelection of President Donald Trump in November, they decided to make the move permanent instead.
Ever since we moved, my partner and I have wholeheartedly immersed ourselves in our new lifestyle here in the serene, rural district of Cotswolds, nestled in southwest England. For me, the picturesque countryside scenery is simply breathtaking.
She reminisced about their move to this place in November, a less than perfect timing, yet it was her first experience seeing snow. Now, they adore living here. Portia brought her horses over, while I raised chickens, and for a brief spell, we kept sheep.

After 19 seasons on air, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” concluded in 2022 due to allegations of a harmful workplace culture that led to an internal probe, dismissals of executives, and public disapproval.
In September 2024, Ellen made her comeback with her standup special titled “For Your Approval,” which was available on Netflix. Prior to this release, she hinted at her departure from Hollywood during the Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour as she shared with the audience, “This is the last time you’ll see me.” (As reported by SFGate) and following the release of her special, she announced she was retiring from show business altogether.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way:
“You know my ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream? Well, it turns out that the reason I decided to make a big move down under was because I wanted to ensure its success. Our business had been focusing on B2B, supplying airplanes and cruises, but we’d also been producing a large portion of our ice cream in Australia at a massive facility. Each time I visited, I fell more in love with the place.
Not only did it feel like home, but I knew that Australia was a prime market for our product. It turns out that, alongside America and New Zealand, it’s one of the countries that consumes the most ice cream! So, with my son York (Erik Asla’s boy) and my partner Louis Bélanger-Martin by my side, we made the move to Australia together. I can honestly say that this beautiful continent has been a dream come true for me and my family.
After spending a considerable period on Wisteria Lane as a “Desperate Housewives” star, she’s since relocated to a different physical location in reality. Eva shared her feelings about departing Los Angeles with Marie Claire in November 2024, expressing that the city had undergone significant changes even before the pandemic. The atmosphere felt altered, and the arrival of Covid only accelerated this transformation. While she doesn’t wish to criticize California, she feels that a new chapter of her life is beginning now, possibly due to issues like homelessness and high taxes.
For several years, Eva, her husband José Bastón, and their son Santiago have been dividing their time between Mexico and Spain. She acknowledged her privilege for being able to escape to other countries while many Americans are stuck in what she described as a dystopian United States, expressing empathy and concern for them.
However, Eva clarified that her decision to leave was not due to President Trump’s re-election but rather because her work commitments took her to Spain since “Land of Women”—a project involving six months in Catalonia followed by four months in Mexico for “Searching for Mexico,” and she has resided there ever since. She expressed discomfort with the politicization of her move.
Since relocating, Eva has remained active, taking on roles in projects such as “Only Murders in the Building” and “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.
The actor and his family have moved from Chicago to Madrid, Spain, as he shares a home with his Spanish wife Alejandra Silva. He spoke about this move on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2024. Their sons, Alexander and James, are expected to thrive in the new environment since they are already bilingual. Richard also has an adult son, Homer, from a previous relationship with Carey Lowell. In January 2025, he expressed that his family is enjoying this new chapter in their lives more than ever, as he told Elle España.
From morning to night, the singer resides in Paris. Previously, she had been splitting her time between the U.S. and France due to her marriage with Matt Pokora, but they decided to relocate permanently so their children could attend school in France. Their children include Violet from a previous relationship with The-Dream, as well as sons Isaiah and Kenna from their union. Life for this family seems wonderful in Paris, with the kids adapting well, learning French, enjoying the park, and maintaining a healthy balance between family activities during the day and work at night due to Christina’s work schedule being ahead of U.S. time.
Lindsay has grown weary of baseless speculations about her departure from Los Angeles. To clear the air, she explained her situation while reminiscing about her busy career and social life during the 2000s.
“I feel like some of my work was overshadowed by paparazzi and all that kind of chaos when I was younger,” said Lindsay, who starred in ‘The Parent Trap’, during an interview with Bustle in March 2024. “It’s annoying, and I wish it hadn’t happened. It seemed to develop a momentum of its own. That’s why I decided to vanish – I thought, ‘If there’s no story here, they won’t focus on just my work.'”
Lindsay eventually left the US for London and later Dubai, and she also opened beach clubs in Greece. However, there was another reason behind her desire to escape the limelight.
The actress from Mean Girls pondered, “What if I never experience love? What if it never happens to me?” She went on to explain that spending time focusing on herself was what eventually opened up opportunities and affirmative responses – the things she wanted to accept.
Indeed, Lindsay found love with Bader Shammas, and they exchanged vows in 2022, welcoming their son Luai in the following year. Today, they reside in Dubai, but Lindsay has not entirely departed from Hollywood, as she continues to act in films such as Our Little Secret, Irish Wish, and Freakier Friday.
After giving it some thought, actor Josh made the choice to depart from Hollywood. In an interview with People in July 2024, he described Hollywood as a mindset rather than just a location. He felt that being surrounded by people constantly discussing the film industry would make his life monotonous, which was not something he ever wanted.
Instead, he yearned for more diversity. He explained, “I’ve always desired to be around people engaged in various activities that would help me forget about my work and encourage growth in different areas.” In his opinion, this is what truly enriches life.
As a result, the star of Black Hawk Down, along with his wife Tamsin Egerton and their four kids, moved to the Hampshire countryside in England. Reflecting on the move, he told The Guardian in July 2024 that time goes by swiftly, especially with four children around. Although there may be less external activity, he emphasized that more of life’s essential moments were taking place.
Despite relocating, Josh has remained busy and landed roles in Verity, Fight or Flight, and Trap.
If you haven’t been keeping up with social media updates, you might not be aware that Jesse no longer resides in Los Angeles.
Following stints on shows like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the 2000 film “Bring It On”, Eliza shared in September 2024 that she had qualified in psychedelic-assisted therapy and was deepening her knowledge in mental health care.
She shared with Boston Magazine, “I discovered a path to change the focus of my life towards healing myself first, in order to aid others in their healing. It would be wrong not to express the transformation, peace, and enthusiasm I now feel. This is undoubtedly my true vocation, my genuine purpose.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share this exciting news! The fabulous star of The Flintstones, none other than Rosie herself, has embarked on a new chapter in Ireland back in January 2025! Accompanied by her cherished youngest child, Clay, she’s even taken steps to become an Irish citizen, given her grandparents’ roots in that enchanting European country. Though recent political shifts prompted this move, Rosie left the door open for a potential return to her home turf someday.
In the video she shared on TikTok, she expressed her longing for her other children, friends, and various aspects of life back at home. She is currently seeking a new home here in this wonderful country, but only when all citizens in America enjoy equal rights will they think about returning.
Actress who stars in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” has revealed her decision to take an open-ended break from acting, marking a pause in her career following two decades within the entertainment industry.
In June 2024, Evangeline shared on Instagram, “I’m overflowing with happiness and contentment today while I bring my vision to life. I’m incredibly thankful for all the blessings in my life. Sometimes, it can be daunting to walk away from what appears to be the most logical path (wealth and fame), but embracing your true purpose replaces fear with a sense of accomplishment.
However, she doesn’t close the door permanently on returning to Hollywood. Instead, she expresses, “I may revisit Hollywood someday, but for now, this is where I feel at home.
Since the conclusion of Netflix’s 2019 series “V-Wars,” the actor formerly known from “The Vampire Diaries” hasn’t taken on a new acting role. Instead, he has devoted himself more deeply to a personal endeavor, which is his commitment to fighting climate change by enhancing global soil health.
In an interview with TopMob News in November 2023, Ian explained that he had taken a break from acting approximately four years prior to focus on parenting his two children with wife Nikki Reed, growing his businesses, and bringing to light the documentaries, “Kiss the Ground” (launched in 2020) and its sequel “Common Ground.” These films emphasize the importance of regenerative farming.
In the future, he envisioned himself transforming into a rancher and creating lasting business brands, be it in bourbon or health and wellness, while adhering to regenerative agriculture and soil management techniques. This is the path he saw for his life. So when people ask him why he’s passionate about these issues, he responds that it’s because this is who he is and where he sees himself headed.

From the age of 13 to 21, she starred in various shows, but by 15, she already felt embarrassed about them. To her friends at 15, being on a Nickelodeon show wasn’t something cool; it was an embarrassment.

She believes that if she writes something specifically for herself, it might offer a unique opportunity to revisit acting without the burden that had been weighing on her for so long.
This seemed almost inevitable. If we had the chance to wed Prince Harry, commit ourselves to philanthropic pursuits that are closest to our heart, and access the Queen’s magnificent tiara collection, saying goodbye to Hollywood might not be such a difficult decision.
Mimicking the career trajectory of Grace Kelly from Hollywood to the Princely Palace of Monaco, Meghan Markle gave up her home in Toronto, along with her popular role on Suits, to embark on a life with The Firm. However, after stepping down from their senior positions and settling in Montecito, California, she’s gradually returning to the entertainment industry by making strategic moves such as their multi-year production deal with Netflix.

She shared with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow that she had made a change in her life, seeking different experiences. For years, she had been pushing herself hard, working and making films, which she described as exhausting. When filming a movie, it’s easy to feel completely committed – you’re there for 12 hours a day, often for months, with little time left for anything else.
As a passionate enthusiast, there’s so much more I yearn to delve into, such as continuing my literary journey (expanding on my 2013 New York Times best-seller, “The Body Book,” with the release of “The Longevity Book” in 2016) and embarking on the beautiful adventure of starting a family with my husband, Benji Madden. However, while I openly admitted to InStyle magazine in 2019 that I no longer miss performing and am currently focusing on the realm of wellness, it seems there might be an exception or two for a comeback performance.
In a conversation with TopMob News, Jamie Foxx expressed his eagerness when he said, “We humbly requested and appealed to her heart, something like, ‘Could you do it one more time for us?'” regarding getting Cameron Diaz to join the 2025 Netflix film “Back in Action”. He clarified his choice, stating, “I’ve been involved in acting since I was eight years old. Lately, I didn’t find it as enjoyable as I once did.
Initially, acting was merely a pastime and source of joy, shared with friends during leisure time or as a summer activity. But now, the possibility of turning it into a profession has emerged. Jack explained, “I still enjoy it, but when you transform something into a job, your feelings towards it shift. It’s not that I dislike it; rather, it’s no longer what I aspire to do.
After a hiatus of six years, he was all set to resume his acting career. In 2020, he joined the cast of BBC’s series “Out of Her Mind”. Since then, Jack has been seen in movies such as “Rebecca’s Boyfriend” and “In the Land of Saints and Sinners”, as well as TV shows like “Safe Harbor” and “The Famous Five”.

Despite not taking on a live-action movie role since 1997, even turning down a cameo in Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters remake, Rick remains a beloved cultural figure. This is demonstrated by the public uproar over news that he was assaulted while walking in New York City in 2020. Fortunately, fans can look forward to his return as he teams up with Josh Gad in the upcoming Disney reboot, Shrunk.
After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, the notable star from “Never Been Kissed” seemed to indicate a potential shift away from acting. She expressed this sentiment to Vogue, stating, “Ninety percent of acting roles require a great deal of intimate scenes with other actors, and I’m not interested in that. It’s an intense element to work with, and while our relationship is robust, it’s a strange fire to play with. If you’re going to walk through fire, there needs to be something extraordinary on the other side.
Her resolve became firm when her son Martin followed in older sister Louisanna’s footsteps in 2014. Expressing this to Us Weekly at a 2016 event, she stated, “I no longer engage with the film industry; I am now solely a mom and an outsider.” She further mentioned that she assists Kimmel with his business ventures and enjoys painting as a hobby. Her primary focus, it seems, is her children, which is why she chose to step away from her career.
She had watched Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. It dawned on her at last that perhaps it was time for a change.
In 2018, she shared on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ that at around 45, she found herself pondering if there was an opportunity for her to take on something entirely new and difficult. Since she had a clear idea of what acting would look like for the next decade or two, she decided to step away from it and start a business instead.
She had only one more item left to complete for her still-developing public-oriented art business, General Public.
I spoke with Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of ‘Arrested Development.’ I told him that if there’s a fifth season, I won’t participate because I’ve stopped acting. He seemed very understanding and agreed completely. We had a wonderful chat, and later on, he wrote me into five episodes.
After winning three Academy Awards, one might wonder what else there is left to achieve. Following his sixth Oscar nomination for his last film, “Phantom Thread” in 2017, the actor announced through his representative that he would no longer pursue acting roles. This decision is personal and neither the actor nor his representatives will provide further comments on this matter.
