Nintendo and Illumination have just dropped the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and they’ve also revealed three new actors who will be joining the cast.
Donald Glover will provide the voice for Yoshi, Luis Guzman for Wart, and Issa Rae for Honey Queen.
Here is an overview of the movie, via Nintendo:
The upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film continuing the story from the successful 2023 film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which grossed over $1.3 billion globally. Both films are a collaboration between Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, and are co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo. Universal Pictures will distribute the new film worldwide.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who previously worked together, directed The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Matthew Fogel wrote the screenplay. Brian Tyler composed the film’s music.
The movie features Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser. Other stars include Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Donald Glover as Yoshi, Luis Guzman as Wart, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Brie Larson as Rosalina.
I’m so hyped! The Super Mario Bros. Movie is finally coming out on April 1st in the US and a bunch of other countries. If you’re not in those initial areas, don’t worry – it’ll be rolling out to more places throughout April!
