Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Leaves Room For a Sequel After Major Cliffhanger

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! The recently concluded Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga, created by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, finishes with the end of the war between humans and the Simurians. Through the combined efforts of Maru and Yuji Itadori, both sides are now working towards a peaceful future, even after things became difficult when Yakumaru shot Cross. The battle between Dabura and Yuka ended without a winner because Maru interrupted Dabura’s Harmony Ritual. Realizing Dabura was likely to win, Maru sent him back to Simuria to save Yuka’s life.

When Dabura arrived, he quickly resolved the issues with the Deskunte tribe’s leader and took his place. His first act as leader was to honor Dura with a proper burial, enshrining him as a hero. However, Dabura wasn’t interested in ruling for long, as he disliked politics. While the Deskunte tribe could finally enjoy peace after their former chief’s death, things were also improving for the Rumelians back on Earth. Despite reaching the end of Chapter 25, the story suggests that this character will return in the future.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Hints At Dabura Returning For Kyoko

In chapter 11 of the manga, we meet Kyoko Tomoe, the school nutritionist at Jujutsu High, who is busy preparing meals for a conference between sorcerers and the Simurians. Dabura, the Simurian leader, is attending the conference hoping to find a way to lift the curse placed on his sister by the Deskunte chief. He encounters Kyoko, and she seems intensely focused on him. Despite trying to appear calm, Dabura becomes flustered after meeting her gaze, stumbling over his words.

Kyoko’s feelings for him were obvious, but trouble begins when peace talks collapse and they become enemies. After Dabura departs for Simuria, Kyoko laments her romantic failures, though she’s relieved Yuka is safe. The chapter closes with a surprising arrival that most likely means Dabura has returned to find Kyoko. Now that the manga has finished, the author might release an epilogue to resolve lingering questions, including the reason for Dabura’s return.

The final volume of the series, Volume 3, is set to be released in Japan on May 1st and may include an epilogue. Given that both the author and artist intend to create new projects, a proper sequel to the story is likely, as some key plot points – like what happens to Iori Okkotsu and Megumi Fushiguro – haven’t been fully resolved. Plus, Yuji is starting a new life, and there are still many unanswered questions about his journey and the impact he had on the world after helping Maru.
