Nintendo Switch Online Just Added 3 New Games at Once

Okay, so Nintendo just dropped three new games for Switch Online all at once, which is awesome! Honestly, since the beginning of the year, the service has been getting a ton of new stuff to play – we’ve already seen games from GameCube, Game Boy, and even Virtual Boy added. I’m expecting even more from other consoles later on. But this latest update is extra cool because all three new games are Mario titles! It’s a nice little boost to the library and gives us more reason to keep our subscriptions going.

Nintendo has just added Mario Tennis and Mario Clash to the growing collection of Virtual Boy games available through its Switch Online service. Originally released in 1995 for the Virtual Boy—a console that didn’t last long—these were two of the system’s more well-known titles. With this addition, Switch Online now offers a total of nine Virtual Boy games.

Nintendo also added the classic Mario vs. Donkey Kong to their lineup today. Originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2004, the game was very popular. Nintendo recently updated it for the Switch in 2024, but if you prefer the original, you can now play it through the Switch Online service.

Another Big Game Is Coming to Switch Online in March

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have more to look forward to this month! In addition to the recent game additions, Nintendo announced that Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness will be available on the GameCube section of NSO sometime in March. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, with March already halfway over, we expect to hear more details soon.

Just a heads-up: all the Switch Online games we’ve discussed require the more expensive Expansion Pack subscription. If you’re interested in signing up for it, it costs $49.99 annually.
