The popular anime series One Piece will return to Netflix for another season filled with exciting and unpredictable stories. Viewers are eager to see what happens next and hope the next season arrives soon.
Season two, titled ‘Into the Grand Line,’ is now available for streaming. It follows Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, and his pirate crew as they begin a thrilling new journey, including their initial encounters with the dangerous Baroque Works organization.
This is only the start, especially for dedicated One Piece fans who know the anime has been running for a very long time and is still continuing. Recently, Mackenyu, who stars alongside the live-action cast, mentioned that the Netflix series has a planned conclusion that comes sooner than the original anime.
Even though it’s been a while since new episodes aired, the streaming service is still very optimistic about One Piece. They demonstrated this confidence by announcing a third season long before the second season was even released.

One Piece season 3 release date speculation

Netflix has confirmed that a third season of One Piece is coming, but they haven’t announced a release date yet.
The show received an early renewal in August 2025, and filming began three months afterward in Cape Town, South Africa.
Getting a jump start now should shorten the long wait between seasons one and two – the previous gap was over two and a half years, and was made worse by the Hollywood strikes of 2023.
We’re guessing that One Piece season 3 might arrive in late 2027 or early 2028, but this is just our prediction at this point. We’ll share official release information as soon as it becomes available.
One Piece season 3 cast: New and returning

Season 3 of One Piece will feature Iñaki Godoy returning as Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. The crew includes Roronoa Zoro played by Mackenyu, Nami played by Emily Rudd, Usopp played by Jacob Romero, and Sanji played by Taz Skylar.
The show is expanding its world with some exciting new cast members for season 3, notably Xolo Maridueña, known from Cobra Kai and Blue Beetle, who will play the pirate Portgas D. Ace.
Cole Escola, known for his work in Search Party and on Broadway, is joining the cast of the anime adaptation. He’ll play the role of Bon Clay, a character described as a “theatrical assassin” (according to Tudum).
Netflix revealed that the villainous organization Baroque Works from One Piece will gain two new members: Daisy Head, known for her role in Shadow and Bone, will play Miss Doublefinger, and Awdo Awdo will join the cast as Mr. 1.

Variety announced that several actors will return for the third season, including Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.
Plus, their roles have expanded from appearing occasionally to being full-time cast members, so we’ll likely see them in more scenes going forward.
I’m really excited about One Piece season 3, and I’ll be keeping an eye on this page for all the latest news about the cast! They’re promising to announce everyone as it happens, so I’ll be checking back often for updates.
One Piece season 3 plot: What’s next?

Season 3 of One Piece doesn’t have an official description or title yet, but the upcoming episodes are expected to finish adapting the Arabasta Saga from the original manga.
ComicBook.com also asked Mackenyu, who stars alongside the main cast in One Piece, how many seasons the live-action adaptation could potentially have, considering the vastness of the original manga and anime series.
Let’s be real, a truly complete live-action adaptation of One Piece? That’s probably impossible – it would take forever and cost a fortune! But the actor playing Luffy let slip that the creator, Eiichiro Oda, actually does have a planned ending, which is a huge relief. It means it’s not going to go on forever without a conclusion!
Mackenyu shared that the director has a clear idea of the story’s ultimate direction. It’s not about ending the series, but rather the specific story arc he envisions for the live-action adaptation, and the entire cast is aware of his plans. Knowing where the story is headed really excited Mackenyu.

Season 3 of One Piece will still be led by Joe Tracz, who will now be working alongside Ian Stokes. Stokes joins as a new creative partner after Matt Owens, one of the show’s creators, decided to take a break.
I just saw his post on Instagram, and it sounds like working on the live-action One Piece for the last six years has been incredible for him – a real dream come true. But he also said it’s been really demanding, so he’s decided to take a break, step away from the project, and prioritize his own well-being and mental health. It’s good to hear him prioritizing himself!
Owens hinted he intends to return feeling revitalized for future challenges, suggesting his journey in the One Piece world might not be over for good.
