According to a recent report, we might find out when the full trailer for the live-action remake of Moana will be released soon. A short teaser trailer and the official movie poster were released four months ago, giving fans their first look at the live-action Moana.

I first heard from the reliable insider Cryptic4KQual that the new Moana trailer was going to be shown with screenings of Hoppers in cinemas. Apparently, it was meant to be a limited theatrical run – just for a few days – before being released online. I was really excited to hear that, as it meant a special experience for those who went to see it in theaters!

After someone who watched the movie mentioned they hadn’t seen the official Moana trailer, the person sharing inside information said it would be available online shortly.

However, this news should be considered unconfirmed since it hasn’t come from Disney itself. Disney hasn’t announced when the next trailer will be released.

The first trailer and official poster were released on November 17, 2025. The trailer features clips from the movie set to a new version of “How Far I’ll Go,” the song originally sung by Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana. As of today, the trailer has been viewed over 9 million times.

The live-action version of Moana arrives in theaters on July 10th. The film tells the story of Moana, who sets sail from her island home of Motunui after the ocean calls her to restore well-being to her people. She’s joined on this adventure by Maui, a powerful demigod who can change his shape.

Thomas Kail, a director known for his work on Broadway and Off-Broadway, made his first feature film as director on this project. Dwayne Johnson, Dany and Hiram Garcia, Beau Flynn, and Lin-Manuel Miranda all produced the film, with Auli’i Cravalho serving as an executive producer. The music was composed by Mark Mancina, who also created the scores for the original animated movie and its follow-up.

Catherine Laga’aia plays Moana in her first major movie role. Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui, a character he previously voiced in the animated movies. John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Rena Owen also star in the film.
