Actor Alan Ritchson is gaining a lot of attention with his new Netflix film, War Machine. He plays a soldier, known only as Staff Sergeant 81, who is training to become part of the highly skilled 75th Ranger Regiment. During a final training exercise, things go wrong when the team is attacked by a dangerous alien weapon. Ritchson’s character must then lead his team to safety and alert everyone about the danger.
Many viewers have noticed that Alan Ritchson’s character in War Machine feels similar to his famous role as Reacher in the Amazon Prime Video series. This is likely because Ritchson maintained the same muscular build he had for Reacher – he was preparing to film the fourth season of that show around the same time.
Alan Ritchson is giving fans an update on Season 4 of Reacher, letting them know when it will likely be released and how excited they should be about it.
Reacher Season 4 Confirmed to Release in 2026

Alan Ritchson recently told Collider that filming for Season 4 of Reacher is complete and the new season will be released later this year.
Fans of the show Reacher will be happy to hear that it’s consistently releasing new seasons every year. This is a welcome change in today’s TV landscape, where popular, high-quality shows like Stranger Things, Severance, House of the Dragon, and others often have very long gaps between seasons. Reacher Season 1 dropped all at once in early 2022, but Seasons 2 and 3 were released weekly, spanning December 2023-January 2024 and February-March 2025 respectively. It’s great that Reacher is keeping up this consistent yearly schedule.
Ritchson also confidently stated that Season 4 of Reacher is being released because it’s the strongest season they’ve created so far.
It’s a bold statement coming from the lead actor of a hugely popular show like Reacher. Most TV series see their ratings decline over time, but according to Ritchson, Reacher is poised to do the opposite and actually become even more successful.
What Is Reacher Season 4 About (& Who Is Starring)?

Each season of the Reacher series adapts a novel by Lee Child featuring the Jack Reacher character. Season 4 will be based on Gone Tomorrow, the 16th book in the series, originally published in 2009. The story finds Reacher back on the East Coast, where he encounters a woman he believes to be a potential suicide bomber on a late-night subway ride. After the woman unexpectedly shoots herself, a confused and disturbed Reacher begins to investigate her identity. He soon discovers she wasn’t just a random civilian, but an employee of the Pentagon, leading him to uncover a larger government conspiracy and putting him right in the middle of it.
The fourth season of Reacher will feature Alan Ritchson alongside a new group of actors playing characters he encounters on his travels. The cast includes Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, Kathleen Robertson, and Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette. Rodriguez-Marquette will be taking over the role of local police officer Jacob Merrick, previously played by Jac Baruchel. While details about the characters are being kept secret, this season’s story, Gone Tomorrow, involves government agents and espionage, promising exciting interactions between Ritchson and the new cast members.
Season 4 of Reacher is currently being filmed and will be available on Prime Video later this year. Join the discussion about your favorite Jack Reacher novels on the ComicBook Forum!
