Based on the popular TV show The Boys, the virtual reality game The Boys: Trigger Warning is coming to Meta Quest on March 26th for $23.99. Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and ARVORE, the game’s publisher and developer, also plan to release a version for PlayStation VR2 sometime after that.
Ricardo Laganaro, chief creative officer at ARVORE, explained that their goal was to create a game that truly captures the feel of The Boys TV show while also letting players experience being a superhero in a way that only virtual reality can offer. He stated that, with the support of Sony Pictures Entertainment and the show’s creators, they’ve developed a unique game adaptation of a popular franchise. The team is excited to see how fans engage with the new story and characters they’ve added to The Boys universe.
Here is an overview of the game, via Sony Pictures Virtual Reality:
Featuring the voices of the original actors – Laz Alonso, Jensen Ackles, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne – The Boys: Trigger Warning plunges you into the intense and unpredictable world of The Boys. But this time, you’re not just watching the action – you’re living it. The game follows Lucas Costa, whose life is turned upside down when a dangerous, retired superhero family, the Armstrongs, causes widespread destruction. Recruited by The Boys, Lucas is given superpowers and thrown into their secret war against Vought and its Supes. Guided by Butcher and Mother’s Milk, he embarks on a brutal mission to take down the Armstrongs.
