5 Years Later, Crunchyroll’s Major Action Fantasy Is Halfway Over Ahead of Season 2

Wistoria: Wand and Sword is a hugely popular action fantasy series that began in December 2020. It’s written by Fujino Omori, who also wrote the well-known novel Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and illustrated by Toshio Aoi. The author recently announced that after over five years, the manga is now halfway through its story, sharing the news while promoting the release of Chapter 62 this month.

I’m so excited about this series! From what I’ve heard, the story is going to be massive – we’re talking over 120 chapters, and the author plans to wrap things up within the next five years. And the anime is coming back! Season 2 is officially scheduled to premiere in April 2026. The best part? It’ll be streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll. They haven’t revealed the exact date and time yet, but they promise to share it closer to the premiere. Keep an eye on Crunchyroll’s Spring 2026 schedule – that’s where you’ll find all the details!

Wistoria: Wand and Sword Author Hypes Major Developments in The Manga

Omori announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the story has reached its halfway point. He plans to finally address a long-avoided topic – a character referred to as “◯-sama” – and hopes to deliver a compelling story. He also mentioned a significant moment for the character Elfaria, encouraging fans to check it out.

The manga is now focusing on the Invasion Arc, and the author hints at big reveals, especially involving the character Elfaria. While anime viewers don’t know much about Will Serfort’s childhood friend yet, she’s a key player in the manga’s story. She’s expected to appear more often in Season 2 of the anime and will continue to be an important support to Will and his companions.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 Is All Set to Continue Will’s Journey

The first season ends with a showdown against the Evil Grand Duke, a powerful monster who targeted Will’s group. The episode also shows how Will and his friends try to return to normal after the difficult battle. Their survival was incredibly lucky, and the fact that someone deliberately put them in danger suggests trouble is brewing. We also learn more about a mysterious boy named Finn, hinting he’ll be important to the story moving forward.

After the excitement of the Praxis incident two months ago, life at the academy is returning to normal as students focus on their studies and compete to be the best. Will’s path to becoming a Magia Vander will only get harder from here on out. The first season, consisting of 12 episodes, aired in 2024, so you can watch it now to prepare for Season 2. The manga currently has 14 volumes, with 12 translated into English. The fifteenth volume will be released in Japan on April 9th, 2026.
