Disneyland is responding to an alarming situation.
I was so worried to hear that several workers at the Southern California resort had to go to the hospital! Apparently, they were all feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing after smelling something really odd. The park confirmed it, and everyone’s hoping they recover quickly.
According to a statement released on March 10th, a reaction occurred backstage at Disneyland this afternoon involving materials used by a contractor. Paramedics treated several cast members at the scene, and eight who were feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing were taken to nearby hospitals.
As a frequent visitor, I heard from Disney that they temporarily moved guests away from the areas right next to the stage, just as a safety precaution. They said everything should be back to normal soon, which is great to hear!
Around 12:30 p.m. local time, fire crews responded to a report of an unusual smell at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, near the Star Tours attraction in Tomorrowland. Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter told The Los Angeles Times about the incident.
Sutter Health reported that while some Disneyland workers received treatment, no visitors to the park were impacted.
