A major villain from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline is set to appear in two more upcoming Marvel projects this year. As fans anticipate Tom Holland’s next adventures as Spider-Man, they’re excited to see both returning and new enemies. In addition to Michael Mando reprising his role as Scorpion after a nine-year absence, Marvin Jones III’s Tombstone is shaping up to be a highly anticipated villain in the new movie.
Lonnie Lincoln, known as Tombstone, is a large and intimidating gangster from Spider-Man’s world that fans have long hoped to see in a movie or TV show. Although the size of his role is currently unknown, especially with reports of over a dozen villains in the upcoming Brand New Day project, audiences will definitely see more of Tombstone in 2026, as he’s also scheduled to appear in two new streaming series.
Tombstone Will Appear in 3 Spider-Man Projects This Year
Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Marvin Jones III, known as Krondon and the voice of Tombstone in the animated film Into the Spider-Verse, will bring the character to life in live-action. He’s reprising his role as the Kingpin’s enforcer in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which releases on July 31st.
We already know about more than a dozen villains who will show up in the upcoming Brand New Day, and most will likely have small, one-time appearances. However, there’s talk that Tombstone will be a major, recurring villain for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man over the next three movies – suggesting his time as a threat is only beginning.
Some believe Tombstone might be involved in a gang conflict starting in the Brand New Day storyline, potentially leading to a team-up between Spider-Man and the Punisher. However, the studio seems to have larger plans for Tombstone in future Spider-Man movies, making a major role for him now less likely.
Many fans hoped this movie would finally bring the villain Tombstone to life, especially considering his long and intimidating history in Marvel cartoons and the popular Spider-Man video games. Unfortunately, another Spider-Man movie planned for 2026 has now taken the spotlight.
Spider-Noir

CCXP Mexico showcased new artwork of several villains from the upcoming Spider-Noir series, including Electro, Sandman, Silvermane, and Black Cat. Attendees also got a first look at a powerful, mysterious Black villain played by Abraham Popoola (known for his role in Atlas). The eight-episode series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 27th.
Jorge Molina, the artist who designed the Spider-Noir look, revealed on Instagram that the mysterious villain featured in his artwork is, in fact, the well-known crime boss, Tombstone. He confirmed this in response to a fan question.
When Popoola was cast as the character now known as Tombstone in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Deadline shared some interesting details. They described him as a World War I veteran hoping to improve his circumstances. This casting marks a change from the character’s traditional portrayal, as Tombstone is usually depicted as an albino.
The portrayal of Spider-Noir’s Tombstone indicates he hasn’t become the well-known New York crime boss yet. Lonnie Lincoln appears to be earlier in his criminal path, trying to climb the ranks more than a decade after World War I, potentially working for or against Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

In its first season, the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man presented a unique take on the character Lonnie Lincoln from the film Tombstone. This version of Lonnie, voiced by Eugene Byrd, is a high school football player who is just starting to fall in with a bad group of friends.
Lincoln was always a high-achiever – a star student and football captain – but he unexpectedly joined the 110th Street Gang to shield his brother. This eventually led to him earning the nickname “Tombstone” from the gang’s leader, Big Don. As Season 2 begins, Lincoln isn’t quite a villain or a crime boss; he’s more of a sympathetic character caught in difficult circumstances.
Despite this, the comic series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is starting its second season with a significant development: Spider-Man has gained enhanced strength and resilience after being exposed to a chemical called Diox-3, created by Doc Ock.
Based on how Lonnie has been portrayed in comics and other versions of the story, it seems likely he’ll become a major figure in New York’s criminal world, possibly even fully transforming into the villain Tombstone by next season.
