Fortunately, a popular franchise, Oggy and the Cockroaches, has been renewed for a ninth season, demonstrating continued strong fan interest.
The animated series Oggy and the Cockroaches first debuted in 1998, and its eighth season marked a turning point. While many thought the show had ended after Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation finished on Netflix in 2022, Xilam Animation has confirmed a ninth season is being made. Though a release date hasn’t been announced by Xilam or Netflix, fans will be able to enjoy the Next Generation series. It’s a bit surprising, however, that the original Oggy and the Cockroaches isn’t currently available on Netflix in North America.

He shared that the show has remained popular for nearly 30 years thanks to its positive messages, funny stories, and memorable characters, appealing to fans of all ages. Du Pontavice emphasized the importance of established brands in the current media environment and highlighted the continued partnership with France Télévisions, who originally commissioned the series three decades ago. He described the ninth season as staying true to the show’s core while delivering even more humor, surprising twists, and a fresh energy, making the classic battle between Oggy and the cockroaches more entertaining than ever.
