After nine years since its initial early access release, and seven years after the full launch of the original, Slay the Spire 2 is now available.
You can now play the game on almost any device! It’s available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and both iOS and Android phones and tablets.
Since Slay the Spire 2 is a brand new game, many players are wondering what systems it’s available on. Here’s an update on whether it will be released on consoles.
Slay the Spire 2 platforms: Is STS2 on console?
At the time of writing, Slay the Spire 2 is only available on PC.
Similar to the first game, Slay the Spire 2 is currently available in early access. The developers, MegaCrit, plan to officially release the full game when they’re satisfied with its content and overall quality.
While it’s not officially announced yet, most people expect the game to eventually come to consoles, likely when it fully launches and is no longer in early access.

Slay the Spire 2 console release date speculation
We predict that Slay the Spire 2 will release on consoles in late 2027 to early 2028.
The developers have announced on Steam that the game will likely be in early access for between one and two years, though they don’t have a firm date yet.
The game’s initial development, including a period of early access, took longer than planned. They originally anticipated a year, but it ended up taking eighteen months.
It’s likely this project will take longer to develop than initially planned. Developers frequently have new ideas during the process, which naturally adds time – a good example is the ongoing development of Silksong.
For that reason, while a 2027 release is by no means unlikely, we are leaning towards 2028 instead.
Once it’s finally released, it’s highly likely the game will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
This is just a guess, and the MegaCrit team might surprise everyone by finishing the game quickly. So, don’t take it too seriously!
For now, Slay the Spire 2 will only be available on PC, so we apologize to those hoping to play it on consoles. We’ll let you know when that changes!
