Pregnant Sofia Richie Unveils Hair Transformation Before Baby No. 2

Sofia Richie is bumping along with a new look.

The expecting model showed off a new, darker hairstyle as she gets ready to welcome her second child with her husband, Elliot Grainge.

On March 11th, Sofia shared a photo on Instagram showing off her new hair color and baby bump – she was wearing a gray t-shirt and cardigan – and simply captioned it, “Big plans.”

As a stylist, I’m always thrilled when clients want to evolve their look! Sofia, who’s 27, decided to keep her classic middle part, but we had fun playing with texture and shape. We’re currently growing out her bob, so my team and I added some soft layers around her face – it’s a great way to update the cut while still letting her hair grow! As I shared with TopMob News, it’s all about finding that perfect balance.

The owner of the FLORE Los Angeles Salon explained that he also styled Sofia’s bangs as a soft, face-framing curtain, designed to maintain a natural look as they grow out.

As for the name of Sofia’s new hair shade? 

Her colorist, Jess Gonzalez, described the shade as a ‘caramelized brunette’ – a warm, shiny brown that’s ideal for spring. “It’s a seamless, beautiful color,” Gonzalez added.

Sofia is entering a new chapter in her life! She’s about to become a mom to a boy, which is a first for her.

The influencer announced she and Elliot are expecting a baby boy, sharing photos from her January baby shower with the caption: “Welcome to The Grainge Club.” She and Elliot are also parents to their 21-month-old daughter, Eloise.

Becoming a mother also changed how she thought about style, which inspired her to start her own fashion line, SRG, last year.

In an October interview with W magazine, she described reflecting on her life, including times spent at home with her daughter, socializing with friends, and focusing on her career.

Sofia, the daughter of Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander, hopes to eventually pass her fashion brand, SRG, down to her own daughter. She told Elle magazine she wants future generations to view SRG with the same fondness she feels when looking at her mother’s wardrobe.

She explained that she defines success by how long something remains cherished and relevant. “Finding pieces that feel great and last a long time – that’s what really matters to me,” she said.
