A sneak peek at the upcoming horror film, Bodycam, reveals a fresh take on the found footage style. The movie, premiering on Shudder tomorrow, is a crime thriller shown through the body cameras of two police officers. As they try to conceal what appears to be a simple accident, they uncover terrifying events that suggest something supernatural is at play.
MovieWeb is sharing a new clip from the upcoming film Bodycam, which will be available to stream on March 13th. The clip shows two police officers arriving at a gruesome crime scene and carefully examining the evidence. Things quickly turn frightening when one officer starts bleeding from the mouth after seeing a strange symbol drawn in blood on the wall. As the title suggests, Bodycam is filmed entirely from the officers’ body camera perspectives, promising a tense and immersive experience throughout the movie. You can watch the clip now!
Bodycam stars Jaime Callica, Sean Rogerson, Catherine Lough Haggquist, Angel Prater, and Keegan Connor Tracy. The film was directed by Brandon Christensen, known for The Puppetman and Superhost, based on a script he co-wrote alongside Ryan Christensen. Brandon also produced the film alongside Chris Ball and Kurtis David Harder, while the executive producers include Kerry Cooper, Ty Sivertsen, Andy Thompson, James Norrie, and Nina Kolokouri. A routine domestic disturbance call turns tragic when police officers respond, and an unexpected turn of events leads to an accident. The horror film Bodycam has received a positive 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 12 reviews. A critic from The Guardian noted its “undeniable energy and spookiness,” especially considering its low budget and clever use of special effects. Some viewers on Letterboxd have compared it to a blend of the gritty police drama Training Day and the eerie, otherworldly stories of H.P. Lovecraft. If that sounds appealing, Bodycam, Shudder’s newest release, might be a great choice for a Friday night viewing.
