The song ‘Hit the Road Jack’ might feel fitting for Jack Reacher, as if Ray Charles wrote it specifically for him! The popular fictional character has been absent for a while, and fans haven’t known when he’d return. Now, thanks to Alan Ritchson, the actor who plays Reacher, we have a general idea of when to expect his comeback.
As a huge fan of the Reacher series – based on Lee Child’s books, of course – I’ve been following its success closely. It’s become a real streaming powerhouse, consistently earning amazing scores – we’re talking 90% on Rotten Tomatoes across three seasons! – and always shooting to the top of the Nielsen charts whenever a new season drops. But honestly, the wait between seasons has been frustrating. Season three wrapped up in March of 2025, and we hadn’t heard anything about a renewal for ages. Thankfully, Alan Ritchson finally gave us an update, but it seems like the show is repeating a pattern we’ve seen with other Prime Video hits, which is a bit disappointing.
Alan Ritchson Says ‘Reacher’ Will be Back Sometime in 2026

Though his show ‘Reacher’—often nicknamed ‘Man with the Tight T-shirts’—isn’t currently airing, Alan Ritchson is still very active. He’s recently been getting attention for his role as Staff Sergeant 81 in the new Netflix war movie, ‘War Machine.’ During interviews for the film, he discussed what’s next for his hit Prime Video series with Collider.
Just got back from set – we wrapped Season 4 of Reacher, and honestly, I think it’s a real winner. It’s easily the strongest season we’ve done so far, and I’m thrilled to say you won’t have to wait long to see it – it’s scheduled for release later this year!
Ritchson announced that filming finished at the end of last year and the show is now being edited and polished. He also shared that this season will have more action than ever, featuring over 30 fight scenes in just eight episodes. This is exactly what fans want – they’re tuning in for exciting, impactful fights, not slow moments. While Ritchson was concerned about having too many fights, it’s unlikely viewers will find it excessive.
As a big fan, I’m really excited to hear that Reacher season two is coming soon! It sounds like it’ll premiere shortly after the Neagley spinoff finishes up post-production. Maria Sten is back as Frances Neagley, and Alan Ritchson will even make a cameo as Jack Reacher. It’s awesome getting two shows set in this world in one year, but honestly, I’m a little worried this staggered release strategy might kill some of the buzz, like happened with another show on Prime Video. I’m hoping they can maintain the momentum!
‘The Terminal List‘s Irregular Release Schedule Has Prevented It From Being a Headline Maker

I’ve noticed everyone was really into Reacher for a while, but I’m worried it might fade from the conversation soon, and then it’ll be hard for it to stay popular. We saw what happened with The Terminal List – it was a big hit when it first came out with Chris Pratt in 2022, based on Jack Carr’s book, but now hardly anyone talks about it. It even got renewed for another season, but we haven’t seen anything new yet, and it feels like it’s been forgotten.
Like with the show Reacher recently, The Terminal List took a break because the creators decided to first make a spinoff series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. While Dark Wolf was a hit with critics, fans have been wondering what’s happening with the original show. Season 2 of The Terminal List is now expected to come out in late 2026, after filming finished in October 2025. Chris Pratt shared that six of the eight episodes are completed, but there hasn’t been as much buzz about the season as there was previously.

The action thriller genre is incredibly crowded right now, especially on TV and streaming. It’s a mistake for networks to think viewers will automatically stay engaged with a series for a long time. Shows like The Night Agent and Lioness offer similar excitement to hits like Reacher and The Terminal List, and new series in this style seem to debut around the same time each year.
Prime Video needs to start releasing shows on a more consistent schedule. Right now, it feels like they’re taking viewers for granted, assuming we’ll always wait around for new content. That’s a risky strategy – people might just lose interest and stop watching.
