WWE 2K26 Update Addresses Biggest Criticism

Okay, so WWE 2K26 is finally out, and I’ve been diving in! It’s awesome being able to create my own wrestlers, relive CM Punk’s career, and yeah, even smash people with shopping carts – there’s a ton to do. But there’s been some drama around the Ringside Pass feature. A lot of us weren’t thrilled with it at first, but the good news is the WWE 2K26 team just dropped an update that addresses a lot of the complaints. Hopefully, it’s fixed things up!

The latest update, Patch 1.04, changes how you earn Ringside Pass (RXP) points. You can now earn RXP by playing custom matches, and the amount of RXP earned in all matches has been increased by 20%. Specifically, you’ll now get 30 RXP for completing a match (up from 25), and a 105 RXP bonus for winning (previously 85).

WWE 2K26 Is Also Addressing Spamming Opponents For RXP

The update includes improvements to how you earn RXP with the Ringside Pass, but it also introduces a change that some players might not like. This new change requires players to meet a minimum match time to receive the Match Win Bonus RXP.

The latest update clarifies that while you’ll still earn standard rewards for finishing a match quickly (under 60 seconds), you won’t receive the extra win bonus, resulting in a loss of 105 RXP. This could slow down your progress in the Ringside Pass, but it’s also a way 2K is addressing players who were exploiting the system to quickly earn rewards.

The 2K team noticed players were quickly winning matches by repeatedly making Eric Bischoff submit, and then immediately starting another match with Eazy E. They’ve explained that while this strategy was fun, it was happening too often. The latest update still allows you to win quickly with submissions against Bischoff, but now the match needs to last at least 60 seconds to earn both rewards.

This change won’t solve the problem entirely – players can still finish matches quickly and won’t instantly unlock everything in the Ringside Pass. However, these adjustments should help you earn RXP more quickly, and you can speed things up even further by playing other modes like MyFACTION, The Island, MyRISE, and MyGM.

WWE 2K26 is available now for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.
