WWE 2K26 is shaping up to be the most ambitious game in the WWE 2K franchise yet. Its large file size – over 100 GB – indicates a significant amount of new content and features. The game promises a more expansive and immersive wrestling experience, with updates and enhancements coming to fan-favorite modes like MyRise, MyFaction, The Island, and the Create suite.
WWE 2K26 is adding a new feature called the Ringside Pass, and with all the changes and new content, there’s a lot to learn before the game comes out. Here are the release details and ten key things players should know.

Launch Date and Early Access Information
WWE 2K26 comes out on March 13th, 2026. But if you purchase the King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, or Monday Night War Edition, you can start playing a week early, on March 6th, 2026.
Getting early access can give you a significant advantage in competitive game modes like The Island and MyFaction.

2. It Comes With a Roster of 400+ Characters
WWE 2K26 boasts the largest roster ever in a WWE 2K game, offering players over 400 characters to choose from. The game will feature today’s top stars from RAW, NXT, and SmackDown, plus a huge selection of legendary wrestlers and WWE Hall of Famers.
Some new additions include Rusev, Penta, and Rey Fénix, and even crossover wrestlers from AAA.
3. Four Newly Introduced Match Types
WWE 2K26 is adding four new ways to play: I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster Match. Fans will be excited to see the return of the Inferno match, which hasn’t been featured in a while. The game also includes new items like stackable tables, shopping carts, and thumbtacks, giving players more options to make matches thrilling and unexpected.
4. CM Punk Is the Game’s Cover Star and Showcase Narrator
CM Punk will be on the cover of WWE 2K26, making him only the second wrestler to appear on the game’s cover twice – he was also featured on WWE ’13. He’ll also be the narrator for the game’s 2K Showcase mode, titled “Punked,” where players can experience key moments from his career. This mode will cover his journey in WWE, his defiant attitude, and his recent return, all told from his own perspective, offering fans a more intimate look at his story.
5. MyRise Mode Gets a Major Upgrade
WWE 2K26’s MyRise career mode now features storylines tailored to different wrestling divisions. Your decisions – whether you play as a good guy or a bad guy – will shape your player’s journey and how the story unfolds. Plus, there’s more content to enjoy after you finish the main story, addressing feedback that previous games ended too soon.
6. Ratings Explain It All
WWE 2K26 features Rhea Ripley as the highest-rated current WWE wrestler, boasting a score of 96. However, a special version of John Cena, dubbed ‘Super Cena,’ is the game’s highest-rated character overall with a perfect score of 100. The inclusion of musician Jelly Roll, rated at 80, demonstrates WWE 2K’s commitment to featuring well-known personalities from outside the world of professional wrestling.
7. Creation Suite Gets a Massive Boost
WWE 2K26 lets players customize characters more than ever before. You can now save up to 200 created wrestlers, and the online community features have been expanded to allow sharing and uploading up to 2000 images.
The game now offers more detailed character customization, letting you fine-tune body shapes and facial features. You can also experiment with new styles like split-color hair.
8. The Game’s Download Size Is Above 100GB
WWE 2K26 is a large game and will need over 100GB of space to install on any platform. If you have a console with limited storage, you might need to delete some files to make room. It’s best to check your storage and free up space before the game’s early access on March 6th, 2026, or the official launch on March 13th, 2026, so you can download and play it right away.
9. The Island Comes to PC With Expanded Features
WWE 2K’s online world, The Island, is now available on PC! Players can join a shared online space filled with activities and challenges. A recent update adds three competing factions and a new Scrapyard Brawl area. The way you progress in the game has been improved, and you’ll even hear voice lines from your favorite WWE Superstars as you complete quests.
10. Traditional DLC Is Replaced by the New Ringside Pass
WWE 2K26 introduces Ringside Pass, a new way to unlock content similar to a battle pass. Throughout the year, the game will offer six seasons of content, each with 80 levels of rewards – 40 that are free and 40 available with a premium purchase. Players can start earning rewards right when the game launches with the first season.
This updated system is a replacement for how we added extra content in past games. It now includes additional playable characters beyond the main lineup. To help you decide which version of the game is right for you, it’s a good idea to understand how the Ringside Pass works first.
