Mentally, Hudson Williams is always at the cottage.
Upon arriving at the 2026 Oscars, the star of Heated Rivalry revealed that he and his co-star, Connor Storrie, are determined to make the second season of their hockey series even more compelling.
Hudson told Zuri Hall on the Live from TopMob: Oscars red carpet that he put complete faith in director Jacob Tierney, essentially giving him full creative control and working as hard as he could to bring the vision to life. (You can find more photos and interviews from the Oscars 2026 red carpet here.)
Hudson stressed the importance of making his next project really impressive, especially after such a busy and eventful few months.
As he put it, “The fact that I’m invited to the Oscars is pretty crazy.”
The 25-year-old will be attending the 98th Academy Awards as a guest, and he’s particularly excited to meet Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of Bugonia, which is nominated for Best Picture. The other films competing for the top prize are The Secret Agent, Marty Supreme, Train Dreams, F1, Sinners, Frankenstein, Hamnet, One Battle After Another, and Sentimental Value. (Find out who has won at the Oscars so far.)
“I haven’t met Yorgos yet,” Hudson mused. “If I could meet Yorgos, that’d be pretty cool.”
The actor who’s become the season’s biggest star has been incredibly impressed with everyone he’s met, particularly those famous faces who’ve told him how much they enjoyed Heated Rivalry.
He confirmed it included everyone. He didn’t want to single anyone out because the list had become too long, and it felt strange to highlight just one when so many people deserved recognition. He expressed feeling proud of all of them.

And as for what’s next for him beyond the ice rink? Hudson assured, “We’re cooking.”
The Canadian actor said he was surprised by how many meetings he’s had about possible future projects. He joked, “I kept thinking, ‘Really? They actually want to meet with me?’”
