Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn Steal the Show on the Oscars Red Carpet

It’s the 2026 Oscars, so why not keep it in the family.

As a longtime fan, it was so heartwarming to see! Goldie Hawn couldn’t accept her Oscar for Cactus Flower over fifty years ago because she was working on a film, and now, her daughter Kate Hudson had the incredible experience of attending her second Academy Awards as a nominee – with Goldie right there beside her. It felt like a beautiful full-circle moment!

The actress, known for “Song Sung Blue,” wore a stunning mint green gown by Armani Privé, complemented by Garatti jewelry. The look wasn’t just beautiful – it featured an incredible $35 million worth of green diamonds! Meanwhile, Goldie opted for a classic bohemian style in a black, sparkly dress. Kate previously received a Best Supporting Actress nomination in 2001 for Almost Famous. This year, she’s up for Best Lead Actress, competing with Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Emma Stone (Bugonia), and Rose Byrne (If I had Legs I’d Kick You).

Before the Oscars, Kate Hudson revealed her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, didn’t automatically get a ticket to join her. Similarly, Jacob Elordi shared that his mom would be the one attending as his plus one.

Oh my gosh, she was talking about the Oscars on this podcast, The Actor’s Side, and it was EVERYTHING! She basically said she wants to take her mom as her date, which, honestly, is the sweetest thing ever! She was like, ‘I love Danny, but Mom might have to be my plus one!’ It’s still up in the air, she said ‘we’ll see,’ but I’m already picturing them on the red carpet! I’m seriously hoping it happens, it would be the cutest moment EVER!

It’s been so lovely seeing Kate supported by her family during awards season! While Goldie’s appearances are always wonderful, I was really touched to learn that her brother, Oliver Hudson, jumped in to be with her at the Actor Awards when Danny unfortunately fell ill right before the event. It just shows how close they all are!

Goldie has said that, looking back on the 1970 awards show – where Raquel Welch accepted the award for her – she wishes she could have been there in person to experience it herself.

In a 2023 interview with Variety, the First Wives Club actress said she always regretted not attending the award ceremony and not getting dressed up for it. She wished she had gone, saying it would have been a wonderful experience.
