Sam Asghari is preaching love.
Following Britney Spears‘ DUI arrest two weeks ago, her ex-husband, Sam, who completed his divorce from her in May 2024, publicly shared a message to her.
Sam told TopMob News at the Elton John Foundation’s 2026 Oscars Viewing Party in Los Angeles that while they haven’t spoken, he wishes her all the best in her recovery. He believes respecting her privacy is most important right now.
The 32-year-old, who first went public with his relationship with Brooke Irvine in January 2025, said Britney Spears deserves privacy after what happened.
Beyond focusing on his own well-being, the former contestant from Traitors is also working with MISTR on a campaign to prevent the spread of HIV.
He described it as attention-grabbing and confident, but emphasized it supports an important issue. He partnered with MISTR because they’re also dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding this cause.
Hearing that means so much to me – to my closest friends, my managers, the people who’ve guided me, and everyone I care about. It genuinely makes me feel good, and I’m thrilled to be involved in this campaign, even if it means being vulnerable.
Sam met Britney when she was still under the legal arrangement controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, and has consistently been a strong support for her, especially during her difficult legal fight with him.
Sam shared on the ‘Sibling Revelry’ podcast with Kate and Oliver Hudson that dealing with family and people you know can be incredibly challenging when you enter the entertainment industry. He explained that they often feel entitled to something from you, which he finds absurd and described as the strangest and most difficult experience he’s ever seen anyone go through.
Even though they’ve split up, the 32-year-old says he’ll always support Britney and feels thankful for the time they shared together, adding he’s ‘always gonna be grateful and happy’ to have known her.
We’ve been through a lot together as a couple,” he said. “We grew so much, and it was a wonderful experience.
