Oh my gosh, seeing Lewis Pullman on the Oscars red carpet was amazing, but it was SO awkward when the interviewer brought up Avengers: Doomsday! He totally had to dance around the question, trying to be polite but clearly not wanting to say too much. I was dying! It was like watching a masterclass in avoiding spoilers, and honestly, it just made me even MORE excited for the movie!
The 33-year-old actor, who first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year with Thunderbolts, told Zuri Hall on Live From TopMob: Oscars 2026 that he believes fans will love the new installment. He explained that the movie was created with fans in mind and features unique surprises never before seen in a Marvel film.
“So,” Lewis added, “it’s going to break a lot of rules in the most exciting way possible.”
The actor is returning to play Bob, the ordinary man who becomes the incredibly powerful Sentry, in the new movie Avengers: Doomsday, coming to theaters on December 18th.
Lewis Pullman walked the red carpet at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on March 15th before presenting at the 98th Academy Awards with his father, Bill Pullman. The two are also co-stars in the new Spaceballs sequel, where Lewis plays a character similar to Kylo Ren, and his father’s character is reminiscent of Han Solo’s Lone Starr. (Check out photos of all the stars at the 2026 Oscars!)
Lewis shared with Zuri that he couldn’t reveal too many details, but the project is full of fun parodies. He also said he enjoyed having the opportunity to work closely with his dad, which was a really meaningful experience for him.

It seems the real-life relationship between Lewis and his father is much simpler than the difficult one between the characters Starburst and Lone Starr.
Lewis explained that he and his father lived very close to each other during the filming of the sequel to the 1987 Mel Brooks classic. He said they would often spend evenings together, cooking dinner and watching movies, just like any other night.
The new Spaceballs film features Keke Palmer, who Lewis praised as both refreshing and hilarious, alongside Josh Gad. Returning to their roles are Bill, Rick Moranis, and Daphne Zuniga, reprising her part as Vespa, Starburst’s mother.
Despite his recent success in Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise, his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his upcoming appearance in the Star Wars franchise, Lewis admitted he’d probably still be a little starstruck if he ran into a particular actor at the 98th Academy Awards.
Lewis joked that seeing Jesse Plemons might be overwhelming. He praised Plemons’ performance in Bugonia, calling it some of the best acting he’s witnessed in years and describing him as spectacular.
It’s good to stay enthusiastic in this industry! And speaking of enthusiasm, check out all the amazing stars and their outfits from the 2026 Oscars.
