A revival of the popular Cartoon Network show, Regular Show, is in development with the original creator involved. It looks like we’ll get a first glimpse of the show’s return very soon. Cartoon Network is planning to bring back several of its classic series with new projects, often with the original creators returning to lead them. The new Regular Show series is one of the most anticipated of these revivals.
A continuation of Regular Show was announced in 2024, but Cartoon Network hasn’t shared many details yet. However, series creator J.G. Quintel will be at WonderCon 2026 on March 27th for a Q&A session, and there’s a hint that the panel might reveal some information about the upcoming series. Fans should definitely tune in!
What to Know for Regular Show’s New Revival
Cartoon Network revealed plans for a new Regular Show series with J.G. Quintel returning in 2024, but details have been scarce. While it’s unclear if the show will be a sequel or a complete revival, the original voice actors are expected to return, according to hints from the cast. However, Cartoon Network hasn’t officially confirmed the cast list yet, and the project is currently being kept secret.
There have been rumors that a new revival of Regular Show is titled Regular Show: Lost Tapes, with some international reports suggesting it could arrive as early as May 2026. If J.G. Quintel, the show’s creator, shares any new information, it will be the first official confirmation of the revival. Even without a preview of the series itself, any details would be exciting for fans, especially if the revival is coming out this year.
Is Regular Show Going to Ruin the Original Ending?

As a huge fan of Regular Show, I was so thrilled it actually got a proper ending – something not every Cartoon Network show gets! Naturally, when I heard about a revival, my first thought was, ‘Please don’t ruin that perfect finale!’ But I recently heard from William Salyers, the voice of Rigby, and he put my mind at ease. He said the new show, as far as he knows, doesn’t undo anything that happened in the original ending. He even mentioned fans had voiced the same concern to him, which he shared before learning anything about the revival. It’s such a relief to hear they’re respecting what came before!
Salyers explained he didn’t want to negatively impact what he considered a fantastic series finale, especially since the actors delivered a brilliant performance. His main concern was that the ending wouldn’t be retconned, but he believes it hasn’t been. That’s why he’s particularly excited about getting a first look at the new Regular Show revival.
