CFK and DeerFarm have revealed the next installment in the Shikhondo series, Shikhondo: Blue Pieta. This side-scrolling shooter follows Shikhondo: Soul Eater and Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage. It’s coming to Steam on PC in the first half of 2025, with PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Switch versions to follow. Players will be able to choose from English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.
According to a recent press release, CFK CEO Chang-sig Koo and DeerFarm CEO Young-jin Ko described Shikhondo as the peak of DeerFarm’s work, representing their skill, enthusiasm, and commitment. They stated that Shikhondo: Blue Pieta dramatically evolves the series, with changes ranging from the gameplay style to all other aspects of the game, and they are eager for players worldwide to try it.

Following the successful launch of Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage on Steam in April 2024 and Nintendo Switch in May 2025, comes Shikhondo: Blue Pieta. The Shikhondo series began with DeerFarm’s first game, Shikhondo: Soul Eater (2017), which introduced the unique Soul Collect system – a key feature of all the games.
A New Stage for the Series
The story now shifts to a city overseas. A newly appointed grim reaper arrives, tracking a mysterious spirit. Meanwhile, a lone vampire hunter has been secretly battling creatures of the night for years. Their paths collide, sparking a new struggle that brings these two very different individuals together.
Side-Scrolling: A Series First
Unlike earlier games in the series which used a vertical scrolling style, Shikhondo: Blue Pieta introduces side-scrolling gameplay for the first time. This change offers a new way to experience the intense bullet hell action the series is known for. The popular Soul Collect system – where skillfully dodging bullets earns you higher scores – is also back and improved. Plus, the game supports ultra-wide monitors with resolutions up to 32:9.
